Quite impressive for Selby to make breaks of 55, 64, 105, 116 and 79 in a best-of-7 match and still lose.

So both, Selby and Trump, just fell short of a comeback from 0-3 down. I'm particularly happy for Gilbert (probably not only because Dave seems like a nice guy, but also because I don't like Trump a lot), because in the penultimate frame it certainly looked that he would be a victim of his nerves once again, making mistakes he shouldn't make. Those are the wins, even if only in the short format, might give him a bit more self confidence.

It's also noteworthy that alongside Gilbert also McGill, Brecel and Selt have again a good result in this season.

Thought Gilbert had blown it after that last red fluke and the miss on the black, played it with his upper arm, so many times you see this as the player is trying to make sure he gets a good follow through rather than keeping the elbow high, Judd's miss on the green though what on earth happend there

Ronnie did well enough but Jamie had some rough luck, feel sorry for the lad as he's trying to get back up the ladder after his ban that shouldn't have been.
Speak up, you've got to speak up against the madness, you've got speak your mind if you dare
but don't try to get yourself elected, for if you do you'll have to cut your hair

This is again great for snooker. I would have hated to see Gilbert lose and have that negative thought that he lacks bottle to get over the line, cemented into his psyche. I hope he takes a lot of heart from that win and continues to play great matches, challenging the top players.

                  14. Allen - 188500
                  15. Brecel - 168500

This race will be highly interesting indeed.
Can you give me a link, please?. Cause so far I've done the whole calculations for this all myself.

I am sure you know this one but I find Herman's stuff really useful

Not that I am using it at the mo as I can not go back to ESPlayer due to Discovery+ takeover in UK
but I recall that there was many old matches listed there, how far back I don't know.

yes i just googled that its switching to discovery but i was just curious as to did it store all previous matches like snooker.org used to ? my guess is the commentary wonderments of david hendon and phillip studd supersede any setbacks of going without archives

Yes, I know this site of course, but didn't know it had this feature. So far I used the ranking points list on wikipedia and always subtracted the points from two seasons ago except the World Championship for this special list and had to do so with other lists as well.

                            • McGill v Maguire, who's the ref, she's gorgeous both players can claim a lack of concentration in this match
