Great win for Luca, gonna send a message to Judd and others that theres a big battle for anyone who thinks they may dominate this sport in the new year.
Really pleased for Luca and for snooker as a whole with this win.
I think seeing the younger talent getting over the line is what will conquer the castles walls in the game. I love the old guard, but am more happy to see new talent manage to scale that wall and get over the line. I think the fortress has been compromised fully now and the fear factor has been beaten by this new breed. I expect more walls to tumble now the dominos are falling.

Yep , I agree with all that CC.
Amazing to think how far Brecel had dropped down in the rankings. Just proves how high the standard is at that level.
.
Journalists spent the last 3 years or so asking why the Class of 1992 kept on winning. Now they are wondering why they don't win anymore. They will interrupt this discussion in April, when all the attention will turn to the remastered video of the blackball final.
It’s in Higgins head now after another final loss ,the demons are there ,just like Higgins is in Ronnie’s head .Brecel should be at the Masters ,he should be able to play a premielry round against the player who’s place he taken in the top 16 ,it’s not right that he doesn’t go .Alex Higgins and Jimmy White have both had wild cards extra rounds at the masters before ,Brecel deserves his place there on merit .

I think there is a real sense of this now. It all seems to have happened very quickly, although I doubt it will feel like that to this new generation of players.
As for the final, I thought it was great to see JH so genuinely delighted for Luca.

Brilliant in defeat and also when winning . Higgins is a great ambassador for the game unlike certain players who should be .
The comment by Higgins about young players taking up the game due to watching Brecel was the perfect response to Ronnie’s statement about not wanting his kids to take up the game . I can’t help but to think that Higgins made that remark on purpose .
Nice gesture by John to give his runners up medal to a young kid in the crowd on his way out. A true professional and potentially inspiring a new generation for snooker. I believe he did the same at the other Home Nations Finals.

did not see John do that, Ronnie has been known to do that as well in the past.
Question for everyone - did that Higgins McManus Joe Davis visit ever get shown?
