Un Nooh dropped to number 72 in rankings and Joe Perry at 76 . Shaun Murphy not in the top 32 either. Gotta have a fast start in best of 7 matches these days

On the provisional end of season rankings Un-Nooh is number 65. Just outside automatic qualification for the following season. Needs to turn things around quickly. Another player I watch is Scott Donaldson. He’s also in trouble. From threatening to break into top 16 he’s number 60 on provisional end of season list. What makes things worse is he hasn’t qualified for German or European Masters so a further downward movement inevitable. It’s tough.

Wrong shot choices is his downfall . He needs somebody like John Higgins to educate him and refine his game . Bingtau has it in spades. Nifty has pointed out Scott Donaldson who seemed on the verge of becoming a top player only to drop away. The ebb and flow in their fortunes must be quite startling for professionals sometimes

martin gould to me is a more aesthetic version of kyren wilson , potters who like to pot their way to victories , i don't think its in him to beat everyone and win tournaments but still a pretty tough hurdle for anyone nonetheless.

and so it should be , i tune in for entertainment and enjoyment and competition among professional performers not some predictable procession where just looking at a players wiki page suffices

A very good result for Anthony Hamilton last night in beating Kyren Wilson .

Williams v Lisowski one of the best first round match’s I’ve seen for some time , great break by Jack in the final frame ,shame there had to be a loser .

I think that’s a pretty good description of Martin Gould
