Nice bit of nostalgia lol. Michaela looks like she’s had a few Xmas puddings.

I’ll bet nobody knows the answer to this. Apart from Ken Doherty who else on the tour uses a machine spliced cue?

Possibly started his career with a machine spliced but when he retired I think he was playing with a one piece Paris Ultimate. Wouldn’t be surprised if he had an Exquisite at one time.

Apart from Ken, no-one else on the tour uses a machine-spliced cue AFAIK; below are some who I have a note that they previously used such a cue.
Mark Williams (a Barracuda - many many years ago)
                  Kurt Maflin

Just had a quick look at the snooker ,those undercut pockets have been used for about a year now in the seniors ,it’s not even the correct way to cut the rubber now on any table .

I don’t think I’ve played on any table (other than my own) that doesn’t have the undercut rubber. Seeing it on the TV table at pro snooker level was a bit of a shock! I’m guessing it’s to help produce bigger breaks to make it more entertaining to watch?

I know what you mean Steve ,my table is pretty much the same as yours ,full nose rubber into the whole pocket ,still takes all the shots including balls on the rails at pace but you have to be accurate .Saw just two frames of the seniors yesterday with Cliff Thorburn, very sad to watch ,he looked like he’s never played the game before ,age has got him probably ,but won’t be watching any more of it .

I didn’t watch that match, but did see the Parrot match which was painful viewing. What it really does show is just how good Jimmy still is for his age! Amazing really…
