I hope they have a translator for the awards tonight, otherwise a German MC interviewing two Chinese players in English could cause a cringeometer overload.

The fast and the furious,
The slow and labourious,
All of us, glorious parts of the whole!
Because the people who run our sport don't promote it anywhere near as well as they should, they negotiate the contracts, so they are responsible. There's been absolutely no mention of this tournament on any of the news bulletins that I've heard this week, not even for the final today, pathetic.

Since I wasn't able to watch any snooker this afternoon I'm glad I only missed eight frames...
It was on the ES player/app, right? So the reason snooker isn't on TV is capitalism... the betting sites sponsoring the tournaments as well as the WSA only serve one purpose: to make money. You pay for it, you're able to watch it. That's the direction we're heading.

Scary thought but I fear you’re right!
Meanwhile JJ is a genius! “Another packed house here at the Templedrom,” he says. Camera pans across the crowds and shows at least 40% empty seats dotted about
"Kryten, isn't it round about this time of year that your head goes back to the lab for retuning?"

So is Eurosport free on FreeView TV now then, without subscribing to any other service?

Well, that was the first white wash in a ranking event final I witnessed... astonishing.
Had to turn off the sound for the post match interviews, though, really cringeworthy. Thank god Rolf Kalb wasn't there this time, that would've been even worse.
I thought it would be worse, to be honest. It's obvious that Zhao and Yan can't express themselves very well in English at this point in time, but it was still easy enough to understand everything they were trying to say.
As for the final, disappointing for sure. Zhao had that period in the second half of the first session where he played really well, but most of the other frames could have gone either way. Yan is usually quite good at winning those, but not today. Still, a pretty historic match tonight, the "youngest" final in many years, and the first final between two players of this very promising Chinese generation that looks like it could play a huge part in the sport over the next decade or two.

Yes it was OK wasn't it, I thought Yan spoke really well, and I loved his entrance, all smiles and positivity, can't have been easy for him.
I wonder how their daily practice matches together go,

Yes, I really wonder if this could inspire Ding to get back to the top again.
