The Chinese are equipped with the best, closest examples of this and will most likely progress further on recent advances than most.⚪ 🔴🟡🟢🟤🔵💗⚫🕳️😎

The heat of the lighting itself makes for a table so differently fast that only an elite few will manage to adapt to and survive.

Why are people so obsessed with conditions? A good player can play on anything, thats just a fact! Just this weekend gone we’ve had a Pro-Am down at the club, huge breaks flying in left right and centre and half the field had never stepped foot in the club before that day! There was no practice allowed before the comp which made it even more impressive to see centuries going in!
As for the TV tables being some kinda ‘super table’ that only the elite get a chance to play on, well.. it’s just a load of bollox frankly and I’m sick to death of hearing it! It’s like Groundhog Day on here with some members now… If I can setup a home table to be fast as f*%k in a wood shed then anyone can do it, it’s not that difficult really it’s just down to how much you want to spend. The only real difference with TV tables is that they are constantly playing on new cloth! But how is that putting anyone at a disadvantage? New cloths are lovely to play on. What makes the game so different at pro level is just players putting pressure on themselves! Their all brilliant players in their own comfort zone, yes some are just better than others, but being on TV in-front of a large crowds playing other top players that’s the difference! A table is made from wood, slate and some cloth end of story.

Spot on Steve ,I get sick of the same old crap about pro tables blah blah blah rubbish that’s peddled on here ,if anyone’s interested go on you tube and watch yet another 147 January 22nd by Ronnie in a club with people drinking and yelling all around and sitting on rickety chairs , how many of the young so called up and coming Robots go out and do that .This last event highlighted conditions in the two table set up more than we have seen for a long time , very slow cloths ,but still the century’s went in . It’s laughable really that some people think that if they themselves played on a Star table that was heated and recovered every three days they would be amazing .In some ways the pros have it worse as they have had to adapt over the last decade to tables that aren’t any way near level ,mainly due to poor inferior materials .

For me the biggest issue with players coming through as new pros and trying to break through is not the table conditions itself which although are different on the tv table are not that different to make a difference to the match. It’s when those players have to play under the lights, cameras of the TV table against a player who is experienced in playing in those conditions and is generally a much more experienced player all round.
In my opinion the seeding system is set up in a way that makes it much harder for less experienced players to get through the first couple of rounds . I’ve heard a many to 32 players saying the same thing recently.
All of those inexperienced players will still have practiced on Star tables with pro set ups but you can’t count for experience in match play and these guys aren’t able to gain that experience when they are getting beat by top players in the first couple of rounds every tournament.
Sorry but Trains is talking out of his backside as usual in regards to Neil Robertson

Robertson is a great player one of the best of all time ,he would beat any good amateur on any table probably racking up a few tons along the way .If Robertson’s only winning because he plays on Joe Perry’s exceptional table ,why isn’t Perry winning loads of ranking events .Trains probably has the thought he could beat Lewis Hamilton at silverstone if they both lined up in a pair of Ford Focus cars ,Hamilton would win by a crushing margin because he is great at driving anything ,not just F1 cars .I’ve seen plenty of snooker live both pro events and pros playing on club type tables over the years .Trains talks crap ,these guys are a cut above and are just great players .

I think the reason the Chinese aren’t really the force they should have been is down to the way they practice, it’s all too sterile? These big academy’s where they all play each other with seemingly no contact with the outside world! It’s almost like they have applied the mass produced factory model to snooker players? In my opinion that just doesn’t work for snooker, where’s the grit and determination coming from? The years of coming up through backstreet clubs and hard fought matches? That’s what snooker is about and that’s why the Chinese will never really dominate the sport as you would think they should given the numbers playing. They will only eventually get through by default! As the older players retire and the lack of British talent dwindles we will be left with Chinese snooker! Very much like their metal, it looks the part but there’s no substance to it! A cheap copy
