Begs the question ........' Is he a natural talent ? ' ........apparently spends a lot of time on the practice table .

Maybe its the pressure that gets to him instead .

Very good question , there must be quite a few young players who are puzzled that they can't deliver when it matters even though they spend many hours daily honing their skills. Among all the young players Yan Bingtao has no such problem , a tremendous self belief . Many spend years devoted to snooker with a single mindedness and devotion ,but staying unruffled and not having your confidence dented by frequent defeats takes an inner strength few possess. So many players now trying to make a living and such a high standard to battle against

Looks like Xiao Guodong has been docked 2 frames for turning up late for his match against Michael White. Weather related? Ouch.

Scott Donaldson 4-3 v Tom Ford. Scott was 3-0 up and Tom was complaining the table was slow. Seemed to get the hang of it and won three in a row. Had his chances in decider but went in off at crucial stage. Much needed ranking points for Scott.

Well she had the max effect on Wu as she stretched over in front of him to pot a long red . He will have to make it 2 -2 or he might be in trouble

Is this the first victory for a lady player against a pro?

Ng is the real deal. Playing men has improved her cue ball control a lot . Admittedly Wu gave her lots of opportunities but she grasped them when they opened to her. Watch this space

Played well didn't she, with breaks of 82 and 84. She meets Ali Carter in round 1 of the main event.
