I fancy Chris Wakelin to qualify this year, easy'ish match against the winner of Jake Crofts and Jamie Wilson who're both young kids then Fan Zhenghyi. Then quite likely Chris or Jimmy Robertson to progress.

Will Liang Wenbo be replaced in the world qualifiers now he has been suspended from all snooker tournaments by World Snooker until further notice, and if so who will replace him and will everyone move up a place in the seedings, I.E. will Zhao Jianbo now go into the second rd as the N0 80 seed and Scott Donaldson into the 3rd round as the N0 seed 48 or will the player who wins through to play receive a bye into the final qualifying round.Ronnie O' Sullivan seven times the record breaking Snooker Master

But hey, it would be difficult for a R3 insertion of a new playerUp the TSF! :snooker:

64 winners in round one , also look at the following year , ding played ireland’s greg casey in the first round

I got the year they switched to flat 128’s wrong though , it was 2015 not 2014
i think hearn's statement was about not reducing frames , which subsequently has been reduced , i dont think he would have said anything about tier's , that would have been too advanced for a press statement i think.
