Nigel Bond has announced his retirement from the snooker tour and will not be going to Q school after losing out 6-1 to Lukas Kleckers of Germany in his first-round match, I wonder if Ken Doherty will do the same after losing to Rory Mcleod 6-4 in his first-round match or will he wait and announce his retirement at the Crucible like Steve Davis and Stephen Hendry did or will Barry Hearn offer him another wild card to play on the tour as a former World Champion, I can't see Ken entering q-school and like Alan McManus, I think he will concentrate on commentating.

Give the man a wild card already... the tour needs the odd, something to hold on to for old ones like me. Stephen Maguire's next opponents are Zhang Jiankang, Zhang Anda/Zhou Yuelong. This confuses me.

there isn't anything remotely confusing about zhang jiankang , zhang anda / zhou yuelong , just as there isn't anything remotely confusing about duane jones , jak jones , jamie jones.
kleckers had a decent british open last august , i think thats helped him a little , just a little theory there nothing more.

does anyone know if lei peifan for example playing now qualifies for the crucible will he get a new two year tour card superseding the one he's currently on ?

All players that qualify for the crucible that are not in the 64 and are due to drop off the main tour will receive a two-year tour card, but they will start the new season on zero points.

yes but peifan is about to end the first year of his two year tour card , he qualified from the 2021 q school , so if he qualifies for the crucible and obviously isn't due to drop off he wont be given a new two year card ? if correct i think thats a bit wrong as the chinese can be a bit homesick etc.

good match si juahui vs jamie clarke , does clarke need this to keep his tour card ? normally i'd root for juahui but this isnt easy
edit although juahui has made mistakes in the tenth frame , could have won the match there , now 5-5.

bit surprised bet365 have scott donaldson as slight favourite vs li hang , not meant as a knock against donaldson just that hang's a pretty strong player.
