It gives him a two year card to the tour as well. He has the quality to be at least inside top 32.

Well he is back on the tour now Dean let's hope he can get back to where he was and get right back up the rankings like his fellow Welshman Jamie Jones has done.

              • Jimmy Robertson V Chris Wakelin match, electronic computer scoring problems, so they are scoring the match the old fashioned way at the moment manually with pen and paper and the old scoreboard. Mid-session interval has been taken a frame early to sort the computer issue out or until they sort a new computer out.

                • Ken Doherty just came away with a wisecrack. Said he hoped Dave Gilbert didn’t get Ronnie in round one otherwise it would be the Gilbert and Sullivan show. Rob Walker topped it by saying at least we don’t have Marco Fu v Mark King lol. Can’t think of any other funny combinations atm.

                  • I've been quite enjoying having commentary on the qualifiers on Eurosport but I'm afraid Rob Walker's commentary is really grating on me to the point where I've had to put it on mute!

                      • nothing against hossein vafaei but how did lei peifan lose that match , he had two gilt edged chances in the last frame , hopefully the end of the clarke vs dott match with the treble instead of double pink is on the judgement day rerun on youtube , yesterday and today are arguably the best snooker days of the year , the bbc should give the two judgement days full coverage imo.

Yeah, WST are to be blamed too.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, there are loads of comps out there now for youths . The whole set up has changed for the better in the short time I’ve been back playing .
It’s too easy to just blame the WST for everything .
The major is issue is that kids just don’t want to play for reasons that are out of WST control .
It’s doesn’t help when you’ve got the number one player and best known name saying he wouldn’t want his kids to play.
