I wouldn’t take any notice of what Murphy says ,the guys a bit of a dick and would drop anyone in it ,he has an agenda to get high up in World snookers board ,that is evident these days ,Stephen Maguire still hasn’t forgiven him for the chalk incident in 2004 ,and I don’t blame him .Not sure Ronnie banging his cue and the table is a major issue really .Snooker being sponsored by betting sites has created its own problems ,before that Alcohol and tobacco were the main bank rollers ,says it all for snooker really unfortunately and that creates the image.still trying to figure out how Higgins got this far in the event ,if Trumps current form stays since he’s just hit form from the last session of the Bingham match he’ll be hard to beat .

Are WSS allowed to change the cloth and check the table level etc for tomorrow if both the players insist?

Yes they changed the cushions on the Mark Allen Neil Robertson match between sessions ,it’s happend a few times over the years ,cue balls and whole sets of balls have been changed during matches if both players agree to it .Checking table levels and re levelling is often done during matches too ,this was done on the Robertson , Allen match during the 15 minute interval first round match as both players said the baulk end slate was sticking up and the ball was rolling off .The table was re levelled yesterday between sessions as once again it was rolling off .

No you didn't. Higgins missed virtually anything that was remotely difficult and still got out of it at 4-4, which just shows that O'Sullivan wasn't much better (although he did make two classy breaks towards the end). Nowhere near the standard you would expect in a WC semi-final.

I hope so Mikee, it looks like the players themselves are fed up with all this! But would that even hold any swing with WST/WPBSA? I doubt it as money is king! I'd love to hear the players views on the Rasson tables v Star, but they are tongue tied sadly.

The Rasson with its levelling system looks like it would be a lot easier to maintain throughout a tourney. I feel they are waiting in the wings for a chance, but will it ever happen...

I have to say O'Sullivan and his behaviour last night was terrible. I know he is desperate to equal the record, but his disrespect towards the game and his opponent should be called out.

Shaun Murphy on commentary alluded to it, saying that Ronnie, for all the talk of him saying snooker is just a hobby and it's a holiday, if so why bang your cue extremely hard on floor over a little positional error. Then in a later frame he banged his fist in table when a split didn't work out.

He knows what he's doing, he's trying to create a tension and bully Higgins and let him know this is his world champs this year and not to stand in his way of that.
A stronger ref would've warned other players and I do think a new code of conduct needs to be considered, as I find this ultra aggression he is exhibiting more often to be unacceptable sportsmanship.

Finally, I also think there needs to be more done on crowd behaviour. There have been multiple incidents of people in this championship where fans are moving around in their seats when in line of players shot. There was one incident last night when Higgins was on shot and he missed a ball and he clearly went over to the person and gave him a ticking off.

It wouldn't surprise me if this is a result of live in play betting, if people have money riding on the outcome of a single frame and they can influence the outcome by putting off a player, we could end up with a major conflict of interest in why some spectators are there. World snooker need to look into this increasingly worrying trend that I believe has been overlooked.

The match started and Maguire then said he’d left his chalk behind and asked if he go and get it. Then Murphy had a quiet word in the ref’s ear asking if Maquire should have a frame docked for delaying the start..., or something like that.

Somebody should tell Ronnie how ridiculous and stupid it makes him look when he goes back too his seat every time the ball needs to be cleaned. Previously Ronnie was one of the players who hardly ever had the cue ball cleaned. Even after a kick. Perhaps in his peanut brain he thinks this makes him more interesting or entertaining or perhaps it’s just a simple case of attention seeeking.

Tournament after that one David Gray forgot his chalk in the UK against Maguire, and he made a point of asking the referee not to dock him a frame, and the ref didn't. I seem to remember that Murphy didn't just have a word with the ref, but called the tournament director over also. Classy move

Interesting that it’s down to the refs decision whether to dock a frame or not . I’m surprised the rule isn’t set in stone .

Either way Murphy comes out looking like a knob.
