It's been overlooked but the fact he's been filming a doc during this has probably helped him approach this in a more relaxed way. From the incidents with crowd members, refs and other bits, it's felt like a staged performance which is why he was able to detach himself from the game and play like it was practice.
it wouldn't surprise me if he realises that had benefitted him that he may try this for other events as it takes the pressure off it being about just getting the result.
Don't think the Netflix documentary has been overlooked, I am sure I mentioned it somewhere?
But I have mentioned it to friends that is ROS playing up for the documentary?
It will be interesting to see how the event and events are edited and narrated in the final film?
    Up the TSF! :snooker:

    • I dont remember the 2003 masters its not a tournament i’ve had that much interest in for quite a few years but hendry made the most centuries in that tournament getting to the final , but i remember the 2003 uk championship where hendry played very well making the second highest number of centuries and narrowly losing in the final.

Yes, I strongly suspect all this will end up in the documentary, and is the reason RO acted up like he did (arguments with the ref, punching the table, banging his cue etc etc).
Without a doubt, the fact he was mic'd up during each session of play is the whole point of him needing incidents during his matches especially the quarter final onwards. I don't know how long this documentary is supposed to be, but just bits and pieces of him playing wouldn't in itself be that interesting.

Anyone who watches snooker, and let's face it only snooker fans will be interested in this, will already have seen his matches and celebration. What will be needed is drama, especially given that few of his matches were even close contests and lacking in drama. He certainly overly played his role during the incidents with the ref, there was just no need for him to get worked up by him and none of his matches was he ever really under pressure to react the way he did.

I don't do Netflix so I won't watch this, and I wouldn't subscribe just to see this anyway, not worth it for me.

        • Nah, sports documentaries are the ultimate bore. Watch some Deep Space Nine instead.

          • No idea if he threw tantrums on purpose or if they were genuine. For me all that matters is that he won.

            • It would be very cynical of Ronnie if he did that long embrace with Judd just to reel off a rehearsed script for a documentary.

I would have thought behaving like that with the ref would make him look like a dick so no idea why he would do it for the purpose of the documentary
It's hard to pot balls with a Chimpanzee tea party going on in your head

It would appear that's exactly why he did it, definitely looked like a case of over-egging the pudding

Because the documentary will be targeted mainly at his fans, and he can do no wrong in their eyes.
"Kryten, isn't it round about this time of year that your head goes back to the lab for retuning?"

I honestly don't think I've seen a better steal than this, but open to challenges

Long way short of the 18.5 million who watched the 1985 final. I wonder what the figure would be when you add in all the platforms that people are using to view. If a Chinese player was in the final there could be 100 million.
