I think it was just fine. Sometimes I just use cos as an abbreviation. More so in text. Like cud for could and shud for should.

hopefully that dropped fourth frame for donaldson will stand him in good stead for the match where he wont drop any more frames he should have won , allen is very good at not dropping those kind of frames.

Anybody knows how Murphy's weight is compared to former seasons? He was always chubby, but it seems indeed to have become worse.

The Mcgill v Highfield match just goes to show you don't always need big breaks for it to be a thriller.

Indeed. A thriller is made mostly of a close overall match and tense safety battles for me and if there are some bizarre pictures on the table, where it's really tough to make high breaks from that's the cherry on the cake.

On the BBC v Eurosport debate: its the sound of the BBC mics that swings it for me. Its so comforting it's like being back in the womb! No other TV coverage sounds like the beeb.
I wish Joe Johnson was a beeb commentator though...
As has been mentioned, Phil Yates is utterly dreadful - Rob Walker pushes him a close second in the awful stakes though. His co commentators are always very quiet, as he offers no conversation or discussion about the shots. He speaks in exclamation marks and litters his commentary with platitudes and stat after stat. Hes dreadful, ruins the enjoyment of a match for me - this mornings game as a prime example. Good MC / interviewer though.

Anthony McGill is through 10-7 against Liam Highfield. While Mark Allen takes a 5-4 lead over Scott Donaldson into the evening session.

i found it embarrassing when he does the mc part and then runs into the commentary booth to do commentary , it looks so cheap and amateur plus he's a crap commentator on top of it as well you've almost got to laugh.

Going out of his way to hopefully make Maguire forgive him for that chalk incident a few years ago when Steven was docked a frame, sanctimonius git.
Speak up, you've got to speak up against the madness, you've got speak your mind if you dare
but don't try to get yourself elected, for if you do you'll have to cut your hair

Funnily I thought this as well.
But honestly Murphy and Maguire seemed both to have fun together the frames before already. I know that in the years after that chalk incident both players (especially Maguire) openly talked about that they don't like each other. But let's not forget this was 18 years ago and I honestly wonder how much of this lately isn't just made up by media and fans to spur things a bit.

What was the chalk incident about?

At the start of their 2004 Grand Prix match, there was an incident that resulted in Maguire being docked the opening frame. After they had shaken hands at the outset of the first frame, Maguire asked referee Johan Oomen for permission to leave the arena and retrieve his chalk, which he had forgotten. While Maguire was away, the referee and Murphy spoke before tournament director Mike Ganley arrived on the scene and docked Maguire a frame for technically not being ready to start at the scheduled time, which angered and surprised Maguire. Murphy refutes that the docking of the frame was down to him speaking to the referee. Maguire won the match 5–2 and later commented: "Rules are rules but I've never heard of anything like that happening before"
