Stephen Maguire is playing really well again and looks solid ,playing with yet another new cue ,the old maple one in first round and new ash one in second round .

He already changed his cue several times this season. Might be content with the new one, as he leads Zhao 8:4.

You are right in the last 16 he beat Steve Duggan (whatever happened to him) 13-3 and Mike Hallett in the quarter-finals 13-3, he also came very close to it the previous year in 1988 beating Mike Hallet 13-1 in the last 16 and Debuant Tony Drago 13-4 in the quarter-finals.
