In fact if I was in judds position is be tempted to make up an excuse that he's unwell and hand it to him. You are not going to enjoy this situation and it could be more damaging for his career if he does end up on the wrong end of a drubbing..

Not at all, I say it as I see it. I'm not trying jinxing or reverse psychology, judds done for. I do think in snooker the distance of these matches is often the biggest problem. I would say a good thing they could introduce is an option for a player to concede match of they fall too far behind.
I mean if Ronnie wins the remaining 5 frames and leads 13-4, what is the point in any player carrying on from that situation? It's not good for the audience, you are just delaying the inevitable, to use a boxing analogy, players should have option to throw in towel.
It's not good for your career to be on the end of a potential humiliating defeat, so being able to concede from an unwinnable position is the respectable outcome rather than have people rub in the scoreline.

Ronnie did it and one or two others have done it. Snooker is about mental state and it's a very harsh game. I'd feel zero shame in just conceding match and saying hands up your too good for me, rather than go through the torture of struggling to play on just because there is some sort gentlemanly rule that shouldn't be broken. It's bs.
It wasn't that long ago trump was talking about not enjoying the game, a lot of players have suffered depression from snooker, I'd rather put my health first than the BS of having to play to the rules.Last edited by cueman; 1 May 2022, 08:12 PM.

βββββAs for quitters talk, that's just people trying to think it's macho to not give up. However I will counter that by again using boxing analogy, the reason you throw towel in is to save yourself. Trump will not benefit from a heavy loss, the opposite is true. However accepting you can't come back, you are protecting yourself from humiliation and that is better for your mental well-being.
Trump is in a bad place right now, as Willie thorne said the crucible is a ****ing nightmare when you are gone, I'd rather get out of there than suffer this.Last edited by cueman; 1 May 2022, 08:24 PM.
