    That's simple he sought help.

    • Well, a boxer getting battered can cause genuine physical injury, and there is an obvious point from which you cannot come back. In snooker, the worst that can happen is that you lose the World final and it's a bit more one sided than you'd hoped for. Absolutely no excuse for quitting.

You said trump would learn something about himself by playing on, so Ronnie did it, why can't trump?

Physical or mental damage can be just as threatening. We'll have to agree to disagree, you don't understand the dangers of mental health judging by your comment. Far too many snooker players suffer with mental health, Selby this season a case in point.

I guess not. And I certainly don't agree that getting hammered at snooker is worse for your mental health than ridiculously conceding at the halfway point and have everyone talking about it for years.

            • You learn more from your defeats than wins. It's not about the loss it's how you pick yourself up and battle on for the next tournament. The class of 92 have all suffered heavy defeats it's how you bounce back. That's why Higgins looks older than his years, the battle scars on his face shows it all.

Ronnie was suffering with mental health issues, these are serious and should be valued as such, help should be sought and a support network is needed. Judd is suffering from a slight loss of form due to his technique and style, he has no current mental issues.

Anyone suffering mental health issues should know there is help and support available and that in general people care.

But they have always been lauded and celebrated, all I see from majority of people is hatred towards trump. Also picking apart his technique constantly, as if that is going to help his confidence. Now he's just getting the typical, oh no we don't want this finishing early, we'd better give him some sympathy card.

If Judd loses he congratulate Ronnie, accept he hasn't been in good form, and come back next season to do it all again. He's won, what, 20 tournaments in the last few years? I think he'll be okay.

                      • As I said earlier today I've seen enough snooker to know when a player is done for, Judd mindset is not good, I hope he isn't suffering but this loss is hardly going to do much for your wellbeing.

Congrats to Ronnie, finally 7 world titles, I guess it was inevitable he would do it at some point, it seems like he was destined to win it this year. Barely had a bad frame and I barely remember any bad luck either which is remarkable over so many frames to have not had any bad run or bad session.

I won't watch the final as there is nothing worse than watching after the lord mayor's parade. A real anticlimactic end to a pretty good world champs.

Did you stop watching Mark Williams in the semis at 12-5 down as well

Just joking, I agree this one is just a case of making the score more respectable. I'll tune in though to see history happen.

                          • Right then. I will take this opportunity to say that there was no one and there will not be anyone as good as Ronnie period. I know I will **** off quite a few but this is the truth.

Your truth maybe. I can't see into the future as well as you, so I'll wait and see what happens before writing off people who may not have been born yet.

                              • O'Sullivan is pretty good, but snooker is still a fairly obscure sport that is only played in a couple of very specific regions. If the entire world played it, who knows what the standard would be like.
