The ref should have told Ronnie to move his cue as he is the one in charge !. Interesting little side show going on with those two though

People say that Ronnie should help the ref when balls need replacing rather than go and sit in his chair, so he did and kept his cue on the line of the shot he played and still the ref felt it neccessary to duck under his cue and move it to get a look and then replace the cue ball in the wrong position yet again. The blokes a prim little cock who's a referee simply because he has a need to be in charge of something, anything really.

Judd looking much better today than yesterday, getting the run helps, massive fluke when he missed that long attempt by a street, as he was doing yesterday but not getting away with it. Can't win without the run no matter how good you are, both players using triangle chalk so bad contacts are having a say as well.

Not sure I would say Ronnie was ‘helping’ the ref especially when he asked him to move his cue and he didn’t .It will be interesting to see if anything else comes up between the two of them especially if Ronnie loses the first few frames tonight .

Just caught up with the thread. What on earth was I reading?, somebody suggesting quitting based on a bad session for the player they like??! Am guessing that line wasn’t suggested when Judd was 7 frames ahead of Williams lol.

The greatest snooker match of all time started off with one player 8-0 behind, am sure glad they didn’t throw in the towel. Anyway, I thought Judd did well this afternoon, and he did actually have a good run of the balls too which was timely. I think this is fairly open now as there is actually some pressure on Ronnie for the first time in the tournament. I wouldn’t be at all surprised if Judd won actually.

The Crucible has a habit of producing weird and wonderful things ,the first frame tonight is massive and will tell us a lot . Ronnie takes it and he could well blitz his way to an easy win ,Trump takes it and he will really believe he can win it .

What irritates me more than anything with the replacing of the cue ball, is when the ref puts it down, then fannies around for 10 seconds placing their finger on top without actually moving it. Then they’ll look down the line and rest their finger on top again (without actually moving it). It’s like they think they have to be seen to be doing something. Just place it, ask the players if they’re both happy, and let them get on with it!

Ronnie would have wanted to win tonight for peak viewing figures, it's as simple as that. If he really wanted to, he could have put the match away at any time of his choosing.
