He must be on great painkillers then as there was no issues with that Ton in the first frame!! Just waiting for the first fist pump now....๐Ÿคจ

He seems to be hitting form. He will need it to maintain his ranking points by going deep in more tourneys.

Then he's popping up as a pundit on the BBC mid-tournament. And the back thing seems exaggerated- when my back goes, at least, there's zero chance I'm getting down on the shot for a couple of days, whatever painkillers I'm on. I really wish he'd just focus 100% on playing snooker, because he's one of my favourites. He really needs to sort out his mindset and focus, unless of course he's already on the wind down.

Credit where it's due, that was a great performance from Murphy, I haven't seen that kind of desire to win in him for some time now. Deserves a few fist pumps for this one!!

When Murphy is cueing like that he's a joy to watch.

                    • I wonder if itโ€™s the be weight loss thatโ€™s helping Murphyโ€™s game . Not so much from a physical point of view although that must help with longer matches etc . Iโ€™m taking more from a positive mind set about the way he looks and feels .
I think itโ€™s definitely changed Mark Allen for the better.

Anyway, great result for Murphy . When he is on it he is better than his current ranking.

                        I completely agree Mark .

If you listen to him on his podcast he always makes out he expects to get beat early etc. Its a defensive mechanism that he deploys after a crap last season.
Hopefully with some more positive results that will filter to his attitude as well.
It wasnโ€™t that long ago he made the final of the Worlds playing great snooker .

                        • That last red which Judd missed did not roll off I think, he hit that slightly thick. A good interview by him too.

                          • As good a player as Murphy is and he comes over well when he speaks ,the guy has an agenda and poor form against his fellow players .I think Murphy is the sort of guy that if you mentioned something to him in confidence he’d stab you in the back .He played well in those last three frames and deserved to win ,Trump took defeat well and admitted he was out played in those later frames .
