I read that Gilbert conceeded his match today. Didn't Ronnie do the same against Hendry a long time back?

I wouldn't call it a humiliation on two fronts, 1, 4 - 0 scorelines are quite common in snooker so saying 5 - 0 is humiliating is something on the lines of sensationalism.
2, Any eejit not peddling bias or worried about what he posts knows that those 7 WC's in the 90's are lightweight in comparison to the strength of the tour now.
It isn't really worth posting about tbh.

So basically no one’s World Championships count if it wasn’t in the last few years according to the so called strength of the tour now ,what crap .Hendry is a man in his mid 50’s that retired for neatly 10 years ,and yes he should not have come back ,but don’t judge him on his play now .he set the bar to what it is now and many of his records would still stand but there are so many events these days records will be Broken .If Hendry’s a lightweight then Steve Davis ,Ray Reardon and Joe Davis must be nothing then .All sports move on and there will always be a few that stand out in every era but to dismiss someone like Hendry as not worth talking about shows arrogance and a total lack of respect for the history of the game .

I perfectly respect the history of the game , Hendry is only three years older than Anthony Hamilton, Hendry turned pro in 1985, Hamilton in 1991, if you look at both players approx first five years Hendry was already the games biggest name in his first 4 - 5 years, Hamilton like the class of 92 were all beating each other knocking each other out but becoming stronger and more experienced in the process.
It couldn't be more obvious that Hendry benefitted from a lighter circuit as did White and Davis, it isn't disrespect it's simply observation.

Does anyone know why Fraser Patrick withdrew from this, you would have thought he'd need the ranking points.

He was like 51 - 0 down in the last frame as well , that seems like his first win for ages he's fell down to 71st on the eos rankings so there's an explanation for the result I suppose.

Brilliant result for Davis …badly needed points ….otherwise he’s off the tour .
hope he maintains his form and this result springboards him to more results , so that he stays on the tour .
High class match 10 breaks over 50 in a best of 9 .
Still trying to pot as many balls as i can !

FairPlay ,one thing we can agree on is that Hendry shouldn’t have come back ,he’s hurting his own legacy and taking someone’s place that needs to play .At least White plays in all tournaments with Uncle Barry’s meal ticket .these wild cards are something I don’t agree with ,male/ female if your good enough you play ,if not you don’t .

I don't mind these wildcards too much I'd just like to see the newer and younger players be stronger and progress more, the Q School next year for example is only offering 8 places as opposed to 12 previously, that's a bit disappointing, I suppose they have to provide places for the strong Chinese CBSA but I just want to see more Liam Davies's and less Dean Young's and Reanne Evans's struggling.
Evans seems a strange one, I guess all the advice and mentoring you could hope for yet she doesn't seem a better player than when she beat Robin Hull in the Crucible qualifiers in 2017, quite a long time ago.

Reanne Evans does seem a strange one ,every time I’ve seen her play she looks like she’s struggling or just doesn’t seem a natural player . I’m sure at some point there will be a women that one day that will be on par with the top men ,but I suppose that depends on how many want to play the game .I didn’t know Q school had dropped to eight places .

Don’t forget there are two tour places to be earned from the Q tour now .

Yes they still should have kept it at 12 imo as you know the Burden's, Pinches and McLeod's with their experience will be strong Q School players.
One of those Q Tour players Julien Leclercq just knocked out Mark Williams, more of that plz.
