Murphy was never really a god botherer , it was his first Mrs that was. If truth be told he's got a few stories he could tell has Mr Murphy.

Thats whats good about it , it gives potential young professionals an an injection of enthusiasm and gives Michael Holt etc ( guys who fell off the tour) another run . Look at Poonjaengs game today ( Mike , as hes known as) and you have to smile . Sport is fun . Snooker is a sport !

This competitions a laugh, it also gives amateurs some valuable TV experience and obscure players the opportunity to win a title, i'm all for it.
I’ll be keeping an eye out for you on Sat Tom.
What colour did you end up with and what was the process on how it was decided ?

Jesus, we are getting Bruce Lee style Chinese impressions from the crowd while a Chinese player is playing, a new low in my opinion.

To be honest, I'm surprised that this format is a Ranking Event. The one-and-done match aspect of the tournament seems too much to cater to luck. I'd prefer a 6-red match to be a ranking event, like the one in Bangkok.

THAT SAID: This event would probably be ideal for holding in the United States, ideally in Texas (surprise surprise), with the State name leading to a natural extension of the match type (Texas Shootout). Snooker is getting to be popular in Houston with some snooker clubs opening up, but if snooker has any semblance of taking hold in the world's number one discretionary income market, this would be the event to hold here.

So how about this: Ranking Event shootout stays in the home country, but maybe an Invitational (or minimum prize guarantee) outside the normal tournament window. Why not? I even got my image starter to create the prototype flyer LOL (took me all of 23 seconds).

I could never get into 6-reds when it was on TV. It just seems like something is missing. The frames are resolved too quickly and the game lacks some complexity.

For all my ranting about shot-clock snooker on here over the past 16 years, I actually think the Premier League with its 25-second shot-clock was the most watchable of these dumbed-down versions of snooker. Couldn't really produce any great drama or tension, but it was still pretty high-quality and entertaining snooker. I would put 6-reds (or 10-reds) in second place. Next would be the circus act that is the current Shoot-Out format. And finally, right at the bottom would be the travesty that was Power Snooker, may it never come back.

Last night crowd apart was OK, good wins for the Geordie lads and a first for the women with Reanne Evans beating Bingham. First woman to beat a man in an (ahem) in ranking event.

That's great news Texas snooker, I really didn't think snooker would get a foothd in America but what a huge untapped market if world snooker could get a ranking event over there and the crowds showed up.

It's bollocks. I don't watch it, I watch darts if I want this kind of entertainment. In fact, I will watch the Darts Masters tonight. There you go.
