Great win for Milkins ,Murphy took it well though so fair play to him .Considering the standard these days it’s quite amazing the amount of over 40 winners and another over 40 entering the top 16 .

So has Bob found something that will make him a consistant top 16 player at the final rounds of tournaments ? I hope so, the game needs more players like him.
WERE YOU WATCHING KYREN! ditch the coach and just play with belief.
Speak up, you've got to speak up against the madness, you've got speak your mind if you dare
but don't try to get yourself elected, for if you do you'll have to cut your hair

He stopped popping his head outta the trenches on pulling the trigger on his final delivery. it’s now head down staying with cue and completing the shot.
And more noticeably a shorter backswing, giving him more accuracy, cueball control and ultimately confidence an belief.
        Good luck to him..

Milkins safety game has improved as well and more importantly his shot selection .
As he himself said , he is winning many more matches with his B game .
Great to watch especially when he is strutting around the table in full flow.

Thats the problem with Neil Robertson ,he doesn’t seem to have a B game ,he either plays out his skin or gets knocked out by anyone in the first two rounds .

Robertson does have a B game, it's the game plan being over cautious, slowing his average shot time to 30 seconds and above all playing negatively.

Off the table Game’ if you don’t have that, as with everything else, you’d be lucky if anything goes your way.

Also he has put to bed the mad idea that shortening the bridge to cue ball is the way to a shorter backswing thus better accuracy. One needs a decent amount of cue over the thumb for sighting, it's easier to see if the cue is on the line of aim with twelve inches of cue over the thumb than five, and one can still pull the cue back only six inches and keep the tip in sight. This is why cue ball tight on the cushion is such a pig to play.

It’s entertaining to see, all that cue overhang from his bridge, but I’m sure if he could go back 25yrs to tidy all that up, to give himself a chance to be ‘like Selby’ a multiple world champion, I’m sure he’d take it.

Of course he'd like to be a multiple world champion but he certainly wouldn't want to be 'like Selby' using gamesmanship to take his opponents focus away, Bob stands toe to toe with his opponents, always has done.

Agreed, the way Milkins has been stepping to all his opponents with his game this past year has been thrilling.
But like Selby did correctly back in the day, getting that bridge hand a finger nail or two forward to the white, an got more of a compact cue action. The glass ceiling opened up for him..
Who knows what Robert could of achieved if he’d of taken a step back and made some decisive changes.
But then again, what we have now is a fairytale story and if he can keep doing what he’s doing with the few self correcting changes he’s already made then, might be worth a bet WC23
