Rarely seen them in same room, never seen them play together. back in the day alternative saturday were, pub, the match, the pub, 8-9pm ferry from North Shields to South Shields, massive dust up, ferry back (if ambulance and police van avoided), pub, kebab and a sh*g, on a good night. Reverse fixture next week. There is a mild tribal element to these cross river events. Just training for the major event, tyne vs tees

            • Elliots table is the star table in the left corner as you come up the stairs Garys is in the right hand corner. I see them in at the same time most times I go through. Enter the comps you will see them all the time, along with David Lilley and, very occasionally John Astley, although I've not seen JA myself.
This is how you play darts ,MVG two nines in the same match!

Don`t get there much, I know Paul quite well but it`s a lot cheaper at whitley lodge. Tables are great at Paul`s tho, no complaints at all on that score. I`m thinking about entering a comp or two, bit old now but couldn`t fail to learn seeing great players close up and getting a regular thrashing, only way to improve after a long long time away from the game. 🙄

                  • Aye, it's not cheap in clubs nowdays, especially if you want solo practice. Did you play at Paul's when his club was upstairs in Whitley Bay?

                    • Aye, every Friday. We had a mutual friend from his home town who sadly got taken by covid 2021, so I`ve known Paul about 13 years or so, knows his stuff.

                        • Felt a big frame that one, Trump looking very vulnerable again.

                          • Great first seassion by McGill. That last frame could prove huge. Trump has to play very well to overcome this deficit as usually, when McGill had been in good form at the crucible he had usually played constantly solid in those matches.

                            • McGill played decent but Trump looked like a player who's spent 10 days on holiday! Oh wait a second, he actually did and only came back 5 days before the event started.

If you don't prepare then prepare to fail and that is what cost Judd this session. Personally I feel this is the start of the end of his top 16 era. Its fortunate he managed to win everything there is to win but sadly for him his weakness from a technical point of view is hindering him too much. Whenever he is put under pressure he misses balls that are unforgiveable. Probably the worst top 16 player in that regard, when he's bad he's like an amateur. No current top 16 player misses that blue given the opportunity to win the frame. Then the black in the next frame was again poor cueing.

On top of that I also feel he's weak mentally, you can visibly see the worry in his face, if you are his opponent seeing that, you sense the weakness and your belief grows. That's why I think he will tumble down the rankings sharply over the next 18 months.

                                Nope, they're good mates
It's hard to pot balls with a Chimpanzee tea party going on in your head
