    • Bit of friction between Virgo and Murphy commentating on the Wilson v Slessor match!

      • @Cuecrafty That fight is going to be a lot better than watching Joe Joyce turning like a cruise ship
It's hard to pot balls with a Chimpanzee tea party going on in your head

Mikee , you are 100% correct . Those who are arseing around running the proceedings at the Crucible havn't a clue . They were lucky its only orange powder this time not something more sinister. The Crucible security is rid9iculous . his is a wake up call

Maybe the security team must be warned or sacked.

                • Proper Crucible match that Between two great competitors. I think Gary's experience was just enough for him to know his chance would come and he just needed to keep patient. Well done to Elliot for fighting hard and making his supporters proud. 👏

                  • Proper tough snooker, Elliott Slessor did so well to fight back, I thought Gary Wilson was gone there but a great break by him in the end to edge it.
This is how you play darts ,MVG two nines in the same match!

                    • Great match , really enjoyed that .

Wilson would have had nightmares about missing that black off the spot if he had lost .

It's pretty standard for a theatre. I can't remember ever having to show a ticket after the interval at a theatre for example. At the end of the day, you can really stop someone bringing glue or paint powder into a building. Not like they're going to be strip searching 1000 people for a snooker match.

They could install one of those body scanners/metal detectors that they use at the airports.

Wouldn't stop someone with an envelope full of paint powder. Anyway, it's a pretty sad state of affairs if we get to the point where you can't go into a building without being scanned for weapons. I don't think the small scale of the problem justifies that- after all, all that's happened is we've missed one session of a snooker match. Or maybe the powers that be will start doing more to look after the planet, then the great unwashed won't need to glue themselves to everything.

It was just powder, Imagine if it was an armed person etc. All the audience members, players, ref's etc are sitting ducks.

I would say safety is better than being sorry.

This is the problem we have today, we keep on trying to come up with reasons to make life worse for ourselves time after time.

Why should everyone suffer checks and upping security just in case an individual or two decide to act stupid? I'd rather freedom than go into a building and constantly be treated like a potential criminal. 99.9% of people go to a snooker event or something similar to enjoy the day out. We must not change our way or bow down to fear that someone may just carry out some kind of act, be it protest or threat of violence.

What we need is a more public coming together and act as one dealing with anyone who potentially tries to carry out such acts. Surely someone in the audience could have prevented this guy getting onto the table, we just have too passive and weak minded approach that we let criminals and idiots get away with it.
