The tactical battles between players are fascinating for many of us and just seeing players bashing the balls around and leaving each other a chance (which has happened regularly in the Brecel-Si game), is not good snooker in my opinion.
Maybe the pockets being so generous is the reason for the way that both semis have taken different routes, in one both players are using them to their advantage and in the other both players are scared to give the other any kind of chance for fear of an easy run out.
Mark Williams recognised this with his negative break off shot, too afraid to leave any kind of long red.
Time to go backwards in order to go forwards ? Maybe the game would be more conducive to open snooker if the pockets were tighter and both players knew that any chance of a long red doesn't mean automatic frame winning breaks which is so often the case these days.Speak up, you've got to speak up against the madness, you've got speak your mind if you dare

I actually don't mind commentators and pundits saying they don't like something they're watching. It really gets on my nerves when I'm watching cycling and it's a boring stage where nothing happens, but the commentator keeps coming up with the usual platitudes like "this is absolutely magnificent" or "what a day this has been" and screaming at the end as if we're watching something super exciting. It's just so fake and obnoxious.
I don't mind them saying the snooker is crap if it is, but of course if someone is going to be negative any time the match goes tactical, they shouldn't be in the studio as a snooker expert.

well, 10-9 now, both trying to take no risk, then making mistakes, then the other misses, and the other misses... if these two keep on grinding each other it might happen that the winner will be so tired that Si / Luca will have the trophy served on a silver plate
