No pause at the end of the backswing on power shots which leads to body movement and a stutter when playing soft shots but he gets away with it most of the time.

Anyone like me more than a little p1ssed off with Hendry and Murphy's blackboard nonsense

I noticed this forward-moving pause on nearly very shot, not just power shots.
What I saw in Ding's cue delivery is a pause at the backswing, then a small forward movement (approx. 1cm - 1/2in) then pause, then complete cue delivery.
I notice this because a friend has this same staggered forward delivery.

He doesn't have this staggered delivery on power shots, he simply brings the cue back and throws it forwards without his usual pause at the end of his backswing. That's what I see anyway.

He's a bit vulnerable to a quick one, maybe that's why this pause-go-pause-deliver cue action has happened. I think he's started trying to start slowly and gradually build up speed to counteract the quick one and it's developed into a stutter.
Kyren Wilson had the same thing.

Yes, tbh I though the pause go pause thing had always been there but looking back it was different, it's much much more pronounced now than it once was. You see here in his opening break 10 years ago it was a slight pause, but he still doesnt appear to pause on the power/screw shots even back then. The poor guy must have had some real struggles with all this but all you hear from the media is "he's an under achiever"

Thanks for the video, as I remember his cue delivery, very smooth.
Then - draw back, pause, deliver cue.
Now - draw back, pause, start forward-pause, deliver cue.

Is this "typical" symptom of yips?

Looking forward to today, two good (hopefully) matches

Watching on BBC for HD benefits today and just made me laugh listening to Murphy doing Punditry with Davis and of course bigging Steve up! Just made me remember when Spike Milligan called the then Prince Charles a grovelling little Bar_stard. 🤣

What the hell is going on between Trump and Wilson, have they both got a bet on to lose?

Lol!, Judd's won 5 frames on the bounce playing very average snooker due to decent ring craft, something Wilson desperately needs to learn eh!

This made giggle, Ron might be late for his match!

(BTW I don’t do Facebook either but you can still watch the videos 😉)

Well done to Kyren for that clearance, had his back up against the wall in what looked an impossible situation to make one of the finest clearances you'll see in that position. 👏👏👏👏

Great match, didn't have a clue who was winning that, well done Trump, unlucky Kyren.

Kyren should have won this, he got overambitious too many times during his breaks and did let Judd back in easily... did cost him.

So... tonight's predictions: anybody thinks Robbo's gonna actually turn up? I certainly don't.

But seriously (Phil Collins anyone?): I do worry about Neil in a way... he just looks off, not just snookerwise. I hope he's okay.
