Stuarts failure to take on that green and completely fluff the dolly snooker attempt sealed his fate, deserved it for copping out on the correct shot just because he would have left a longer brown. 💀
On a technical point both losing semi finalists are serial upper arm droppers, especially on important balls, playing from the shoulder instead of the elbow. This is down to coaching IMO, the need to 'follow through' and get through the ball instilled into them comes to their conscious mind on important balls and the then consciously lengthened follow through is initiated from the shoulder rather than rely on the inertia of the strength of the shot being played from the elbow to allow the cue to follow through naturally and the upper arm can then drop after the strike rather than before the strike. A very fine line in some players like Ryan Day
Watch again Gilberts last red miss in the final frame of his match (also overstretching) and Bingham lashing at many balls during the match trying for more power than he naturally has, upper arm drops that lead to missing thin.
Both Wilson and Jones however don't drop the upper arm from the shoulder as often, Wilson because he has shortened his bridge to ball thus putiing his cue arm beyond 90 degrees to the floor at address and Jones because he's short and naturally plays that way as the standard cue fits his height. However they are not immune to this on important balls, something to look out for in the final when a ball is missed thin other than deceleration which also causes this.
