Hmm yeh, got boring hasn't it. I hope one way or another it will all be over after this years WC.

I'll be a bit surprised if Rory Thor avoids the drop.

Yes, at his best he is fairly solid as a player, but that’s not enough on this tour and last night he had little fight left in the tank.

Cc 34 Yes easy to say in hindsight but i don't know if he's the most suited to waiting around all day or at venues for matches either.

Maybe there's no bar or it's a proper snooker audience Billy, not ramped up by that dolt Rob Walker into something more suited to Crackerjack. I for one prefer old time ADULT standards of behaviour, we used to go to a venue to watch and not to take part and wave phones around to post pics on social media.
Grumpy old man ? you bet!
Speak up, you've got to speak up against the madness, you've got speak your mind if you dare
but don't try to get yourself elected, for if you do you'll have to cut your hair

Rob Walker + Crackerjack = Bingo!

I quite like the north Wales OAP crowd. Plus, it's been pretty full for a Monday afternoon in Llandudno opening round, vs for example, a final in Riyadh.

What with the coastline and shots of the sea, plus low-key relaxed atmosphere, and less-well known names making their mark there year after year, the Welsh Open is actually high on my bucket list.

                    😆
That’s fair enough but this crowd doesn’t even know a good shot when they see it.

And if you think this is ‘old time adult standards of behaviour’ for snooker, you clearly weren’t watching in the game’s golden age when players like White and Higgins were getting mob-rushed by the front row after a big win.

Great insight from DM in commentary tonight,...... Players putting chalk on the cushion after each shot can annoy opponents.... But he's not sure why exactly....... It's because it's a ****ing pool players trait Rob & Darren!!!! What planet are you actually from FFS ?!!?!?

But that’s no real justification for it annoying anyone else. The chalk is gone when their opponent comes to the table. Also I was watching Williams and he does it (occasionally) for good reason. He uses a chalk magnet on his hip so when he’s playing those shots where he has to lean against the table, his chalk would keep catching.

After a big win, there's your answer right there.

I was watching then Billy, I also did mention that maybe there wasn't a bar, add alcohol on top of being raised without any standards of etiquette and you get instant chimpanzee behaviour. What sort of mind does one have as an adult to behave like those morons at the Shootout, Mosconi Cup, any darts tournament or those chanting in unison and shouting abuse at football matches, could it be the belief that they're actually taking part and winning and losing as well in an individual sport where the player concerned doesn't represent them or their community but they latch on to someone in particular for a moment of personal glory that couldn't possibly be theirs ?

As for leaving chalk on the cushion rail, no problem as long as they don't leave it there when it's my turn

Williams could have the chalk on his other hip like I do, it's not in the way there.

Is Jackson Page starting to show us what he can really do?
4-0 in about an hour over Tom Ford, first through to L16

I still remember being in Cardiff seeing a wildcard Page storming through his matches; but not seen much of that ever since... time now jp?
                              Up the TSF! :snooker:
