Is Jackson Page starting to show us what he can really do?
4-0 in about an hour over Tom Ford, first through to L16
I still remember being in Cardiff seeing a wildcard Page storming through his matches; but not seen much of that ever since... time now jp?
Not if the Ford match is anything to go by. Page was, OK, just that, multiple bites needed each frame. But Ford was utter pants, couldn't buy a pot, he scored 39 points in the whole match.

The fast and the furious,
The slow and labourious,
All of us, glorious parts of the whole!

Didn't see but sadly that doesn't really surprise me. Jackson has a lovely talent, but he really needs to iron out those careless shots that cost him dearly in general. Reminds me a lot of a young Jimmy White in that respect.

I wonder how much he practices.

Ford was very, very sick with some sort of flu maladay, just about got through the previous round and was obviously feeling much worse. To be fair players should stay away from tournaments when they're sick rather than turn up, shake hands, handle the balls and therefore spread it around to others. Ronnie is pulling sickies all the time so why not stay away when you're really sick.
Speak up, you've got to speak up against the madness, you've got speak your mind if you dare
but don't try to get yourself elected, for if you do you'll have to cut your hair

Ah, that explains it. Totally agree about people not working when ill, but unfortunately we live in a society with a culture of "Lemsip, sorts the men from the boys!" Which is of course utter madness.

Stephen Maguire always seems like he’s playing against two players; his opponent and himself. He’s too in his own head.
True, but he's bloody funny in interviews. No filter.
Rachel: "Why did you go with Chris Little [or whatever, I didn't catch full name] as your coach?"
Maguire: "Och, I didnae like any of the other coaches who hang around backstage."
Usual jack, jack jacked it in, still love watching him try, has me on the end of my seat, just like when I was 10 years old watching Alex. God bless him for returning that experience if not else. 🙏

Great comment by Shaun when frame 9 of the slow Selby/Higgins match started: We`re still here!
I have to admit that I'm warming to Shaun, maybe miss judged him in the past because of him trying too hard to be a 'character' but his commentating can be gold sometimes. Keep it up Shaun 🤔

Treatment rather than cure is the norm these days, a patient cured is a customer lost is the mantra from the pharma companies, why have an operation when you can get high on painkillers for twenty years

Oh yeah, that too. Don't get me started on those who sell you the crap that makes you sick and then the 'cure' via their sales rep, i.e. your GP.
