I watched the Robertson/Bingham match today and Phil Yates gave a score update of the other match and he's just done it again during the Trump/Lei match this evening and given away the frame score of the other match in progress which he also added is being shown live on ITVX. Is this a new thing because I don't know any other commentator that gives away the score of other matches when the viewers at home might be recording it to watch later. He could at least give a warning that he's about to give updates of other matches. Phil is a top bloke but I don't think he even realises what he's doing when he gives away the scores.

Yeh, it's unnecessary, people can get this info anywhere, even on the move....if they want it!! Someone needs to tell him, it's old thinking and neither needed or appreciated.

He's a nice guy and clearly loves the game even if he can't play himself and probably has a lot of time for fans but he's the worst commentator and is either spouting irrelevant facts just to fill the silence or giving away frame scores of other matches. I remember before he started commentary he was often in the media room and that suited him.
