I think you are right, he has said that he should have done it earlier as this season has been horrid!
As well as what you have mentioned, he also has his own snooker club (in Cambridge IIRC) to run

Highfield looks like his head has gone already! Just conceded the second frame while he could still win! Left a long brown on, but at least make your oppo pot it Liam.

Well that is it for Joe Perry and Dominic Dale, just was not to be.

Met Dominic at the Welsh Open, very amicable and friendly to some "weird snooker fans"

I see Jack Lisowski was beaten by Zak Surety from a strong position, didn’t watch that one but must have been a collapse from Jack.

Great win for Zak, carrying forward his recent form. 👏

I like Dominic. Loves his cues and loves his snooker history. Does this mean that there’s an extra place in the top 64 so number 65 currently Jamie Clarke could sneak in?

Yes I believe so, that after the WSC all below Dale's position will shuffle up one

I didn't see the match but Jack can be a very frustrating player to watch. Moments of brilliance but he throws away frames with poor shot selection and doesn't seem to understand how just one frame can change the dynamic of a match. No doubt the BBC will have him in the studio and doing commentary every day despite crashing out in the qualifiers. There goes any chance of seeing much of JV in the box this year.

Feel a bit bad for Mitchell Mann, so close and he's only won 16k this season, that surprises me.
Credit to Walden though he showed his class to come back.
Maybe something in lower ranked players more trying to pot their way to victory vs more experienced players as its hard to beat the more experienced players table craft.
Oh well Mann still has next season to build on this.

Muir wins 10 - 7 triggering the inevitable volley of disgruntlement from the bellend that is Tom Ford.

O Donnell had a relative bread and butter path to close this match 10 -7, its now 9 - 8, over caution again.

I thought Jordan Brown kind of resigned himself to defeat there at the end with a poor safety on the black.

                                O Donnell takes it 10 - 8.
