I was surprised Allen left that shot on actually, and somewhat surprised Selby missed it. But Phil Yates agrees with you, so it must have been trickier than it looked.

What a match, and what a comeback from Allen. Selby doesn't often lose from positions like these, leading 5-2, not that I can remember anyway. It must be a tough defeat to take.

I bet Allen will be extremely confident ahead of the final now. He raised his safety game in the second half of the match, and his scoring was excellent. He must be one of the most dangerous players with his back to the wall at this point in time.

So, an excellent start of the day, probably the best semi-final of the season. Hoping for something similar in the second one.

Could this be Mark Allen's tournament? I mean, I hate to be one of those people who makes such premature statements, but as the commentators were saying, there was a blue that was a big shot in that match. Almost a turning point. 3-0 down to Judd, and he won. 5-2 down to Selby, and he won.

When I look back at the China Open last year, you could tell it was the tournament of Judd almost half way through it. When we look back at this year's World Open, will we say the same thing?

That was a great shot to keep him in the match, It could be well his tournament!!

It was a brilliant shot, but the interesting thing was he still lost that frame. He tried his best, fought like a madman, but it still went to Selby. And instead of cracking from then on, he actually got stronger and stronger, while it seemed like it was Selby's rhythm that was broken.

Yes indeed it did, and I totally agree with you it showed he was cueing well and he was going to fight all the way to the end.....

I am really impressed with his fighting spirit to never give up.....
