it could have been easly 8-0 for allen if it wasnt for missingan easy pink. Sometimes wasted chances will haunt, maybe not today for allen, but selby or higgins would have punished this and would have come strongly at u
Look at the williams-higgins uk final or their world sf final

Higgins was very far behind but stolen frames (should have been 1-7 behind at the uk in 1st session if hadnt stolen a frame)brought him back into this match, likewise in his match against higgins

funny that if a player is well behind the commentators starting to talk about comebacks
think u have to consider the opponent and the capability of the player

No, just considering his mental state after everything that's happened... He was so close to getting back to 2-6, he probably thought 3-6 would be an excellent result for him. But now, and looking very much like 1-8, there is no chance in hell he is winning this match, and it looks like he knows it.

Not a good session for Lee at all...... He had a few chances, But Allen played pretty well and took his chances hence the score line!!

Indeed it would have to be a massive choke from Allen for him to lose it...... But we've seen it happen before, will Lee find his form?? Let's hope so, so it doesn't finish too one sided!!

Sad for Steven Lee. But good for Mark Allen finally to get a title. He was starting to look like a player who could be serious underachieving. I counted that he had made 12 centuries, that´s a lot for a short format tournament.

It was an excellent performance, it has to be said. Allen will now have to considered very seriously ahead of the really major tournaments in the future. It's certainly made his quarter at the WC very interesting now, with him, Selby and Ding.

But what a dreadful tournament. The conditions and arena were terrible, and there was no atmosphere. For a full ranking event, one would expect much higher standards.

If they return next year they need to make many significant changes.

table was also not levelled in Hendry's first game....
