Wow...that's some scoreline! I haven't been able to see Mehta in action yet, hopefully in the next round I'll have that chance.

I've seen him a few times now and enjoyed watching him play. Meanwhile the comeback has started, Ding 5 - 1 Zhou....

Yes and on the replay Joe J said "well you saw what happened there, but no foul was called..." and left it at that probably not wanting to open that can of worms.

Considering Ding was 4-0 up against the 14yo he could have called it, hard to believe he didn't know he did it.

Karma should get him now :devilish:

You'd wonder how Chinese players are brought up on snooker etiquette, whether they are told not to declare a foul if the ref doesn't acknowledge any wrong doing..?

          Mark take to twitter lol...

          • Well, Ding has gone down in my estimation for that, this tournament is turning into a 'I don't want them to win it' tournament for me.

To be fair, there was a similar incident with Mark Davis earlier on today, so it's not entirely confined to the Chinese players.

I missed that, what is the game coming to?

If I play in a local league or comp again I shall expect my opponent to deliberately play slowly, not declare his fouls, argue with the ref and take a toilet break every five minutes

And asking for the balls to be cleaned every shot - forgot that one.

                • Excellent ref work in the Trump match, can you imagine what people would have said if Lee had played that last shot on the Pink by O'Brien

Has all the hallmarks of a great comeback for sure I'm still on the Trump O'Brien match though...

Btw if Mike Hallet does one more "Oh hang on..." or "Dear me..." I'll have no choice but to strangle him on the spot :nightmare:

                    • Right, prediction time, Qtr Final Line-up should be:

                      Dale vs Robertson
                      Murphy vs Davis
                      Trump vs Yupeng
                      Ebdon vs Walden

                      Semi finals:
                      Robertson vs Murphy
                      Trump vs Walden

                      Final
                      Murphy beats Walden

Your right i won't single out just Chinese players, but it seems to me it happens more frequently with them, obviously your going to get players from any country trying their luck so to speak, but just interested to find out whether that's acceptable in their eyes?

I agree with sberry, if i know i've done something whilst on the table i declare whether in a league match or practice, just the way i've learnt snooker etiquette personally...

                        • As predicted, Allen-Cao not on a TV table. That would be fair enough if they chose Selby-Walden instead, but surely Trump-Mehta is the least interesting prospect...

Whatever, should be a good day anyway.

Trump is kind of World Snooker's golden boy at the moment, and he's playing an up-and-comer from a country that isn't known for snooker so I guess that has appeal.

Though, it's shocking that a match like Selby vs Walden isn't on a television table. And also pretty surprising that Allen vs Cao isn't, considering Cao is Chinese and there's history between him and Allen.

                              • More to the point, he's popular. That's more likely why he's been picked.

I'd personally prefer Selby vs Walden, but them I'm at work during the day so it really doesn't matter.
