I'm a big Neil Robertson fan so I would love to see that too but, much as it pains me to say it, I think Murphy will beat him on Saturday. I just feel like he's due a big win and looks really up for it this week. Plus, he'll be extra determined after Neil beat him in the Masters final.

Robertson's a better player than Murphy so imo your hunch is misplaced.

I really hope you're right and I agree that Robertson's the better player (though it's close) but I've thought from day one that this tournament has Murphy's name on it. Don't know why, just feels like his time to win a big one. That said, Robertson has a great conversion record (possibly better than anyone?) of winning tournaments once he gets to sem final stage. Off the top of my head I can only remember him losing one final and three semis in his entire career. Should be a great match either way.

Very lucky he was, I don't think Trump would have missed had that pink not gone in. Ebdon is usually really good at hanging in there in the long matches and waiting for the momentum to change, but I get the feeling Trump will pull further away after the interval.

Some beautifully layed Snookers in that frame by Ebdon, but all to no avail. I wouldnt count Ebdon out of this match altogether, but looks unlikely at present..

Ebdon was all over the place in this session. I don't think he has any chance now. Trump played like he couldn't lose right from the start, never allowing Ebdon to force his rhythm on the match. Unless there are a couple of slow, scrappy frames at the start of the evening session, I don't think Ebdon is going to get anywhere near.

Have to say couldn't care one way or the other as I have never understood the apparent need for nicknames...I agree with Steve Davis on this. No need for it in snooker...darts ok, I get it.

At the end of the first frame Ebdon gets a kick on the black, misses the pot (he needed the black cause already needing snookers) and then points the ref to the black...either pointing out something on the black or asking it to be cleaned...this is not very clear. I think he asks for it to be cleaned though. It clearly is not his to ask. The ref then immediately asks Trump whether he wants the black cleaned and Trump nearly aknowledging this gets down and quickly plays the yellow. If Ebdon asked the ref to clean the black, then I would find this clearly a case of unsportmanlike conduct. And it seems like he did ask for it to be cleaned. I've always given Peter the benefit of the doubt. Disappointing I have to say.

At the end of frame 3 Ebdon showed his frustration by conceding when Trump was in. Unsportsmanlike conduct and he was warned. Clearly not himself today. I haven't seen him "lose control" like this for a long while...
