  • Very uninteresting Semi between Trump and Ebdon. Planning to get up early tomorrow to watch the Murphy Robertson match live at 7am...should be infinitely better

    • Big win for Trump. Ebdon is no mug.

But it's Robertson vs Murphy tomorrow I'm looking forward to. Anybody getting up at 6am to watch it?

I will try my best, but I expect to join the match somewhere in the third frame or so.

I think they are well matched this week... Robertson dominated his first two matches, then produced a somewhat sloppy victory against an inexperienced player in the QF. I'm sure he expects Murphy to punish silly mistakes here, so I'm sure he will be concentrated right from the start and play a tight game.

Murphy had an impressive 6-0 win in the 1st round, then played two close games, taking command against Ding to win 6-4, and coming from behind against Fu to win by the same scoreline. It's not exactly been century after century from him, and he's been missing the odd sitter, but he knows how to win a close match.

Robertson prevailed in their Masters final, even though I thought Murphy had looked the stronger player during the week. If you go further back I think Murphy has had more success between the two, but they don't play all that often, so it's nice to see them meeting in another big match. This certainly won't be a 9-1, I expect it to go very close, 9-7 or so either way. Looking forward to it.

        • I am not getting up at 6am to watch it. Here in Sydney (Australia) it kicks off at 5pm. I will be watching Neil. Hopefully he can win his match againt Shaun and go on to win the tournament! Neil has been playing really well and I think he has a good chance to claim the main prize.
My favourite players: Walter Lindrum (AUS), Neil Robertson (AUS), Eddie Charlton (AUS), Robby Foldvari (AUS), Vinnie Calabrese (AUS), Jimmy White, Stephen Hendry, Alex Higgins, Ronnie O'Sullivan, Dominic Dale and Barry Hawkins.
          I dream of a 147 (but would be happy with a 100)

              • Yup... I feel Murphy needs to be very sharp today and make as less errors as possible, keep it very tight. Otherwise Robertson might run away with it slightly.

                  • Neil really doesn't need to be lucky too much as well as playing well...really hoping Murphy can keep up. Neil so far looks the sharper of the two.

                    • Decent chance for Murphy now to score some points and hopefully get his first frame on the board. Did very well to get the split on the bunch of 3 reds.

                      Excellent frame from Murphy!

                        • ...coming right up dear, would you like some OJ as well? Another cup of coffee perhaps...

Totally different experience watching live, especially early mornings, instead of watching with a delay of many hours (like past days for me).

                          • With the balls situated as they are atm this could prove to be an interesting end to the 3rd frame here...

                            • Great frame for Murphy to gobble up! Potted some good balls there...

Both players seem up for it. Good match so far.

Think of it as training for the future world championships.

Good stuff so far though, worth the early start.
