Usually I would want Trump to win as I always look forward to his matches, and I doubt very much whether I will be bouncing around the room in anticipation of McManus' next game. That said, I was rooting for the Scot on this occasion just because of Judd's tweet re: retaining his title and hitting a maximum. Oops!

All very well having a good time and who wouldn't want the lifestyle but there's a balance between being the robot and tweeting to the world about your clubbing with models, Ferraris, holidays and shoes - on current form he wouldn't make the top 32.

Fear factor counts in a mental game where you're playing the same people day in day out, so does confidence.
Good post - Trumps game has fallen off a cliff - got to wonder what has gone wrong for him?

confidence is massive in snooker and to be fair there are a number of top players who are struggling right now for form. Selby has hardly done anything this season, Murphy has been worse than Trump and even Higgins despite a good win early on has been pretty poor since.

I wouldn't come down to hard on any of these players though, the season is long and will be full of ups and downs. Last season people were questioning Selby before he had a good amount of luck in winning the UK, then followed it up in the Masters and played pretty solid up until Sheffield. Any of them can turn it around by getting a good draw early on and going on a run.
Right now with the new system in place I think a few of the players are getting to grips with it and some have hit the ground running whilst others are taking their time adjusting to the new schedule.

I enjoyed the Ding-Cao match, some good shots from both players but quite a few mistakes as well. Strong decider from Ding though, just like Robertson in his last frame.

A couple of good prospects tomorrow... I think Xiao-Fu is the best one in the morning, so I hope it makes it on TV. I'm looking forward to O'Sullivan-Liang in the afternoon as well. Both players gave their 1st round opponent quite a few chances, so they could do with raising their game for this one, particularly Liang who is more suspect than O'Sullivan.

I'd also like to see a bit of Hawkins-Zhao, but I doubt that will be televised. It will probably be Selby's or Robertson's match...

Yes i watched a bit of the Ding match on eurosport player, seemed quite scrappy but enjoyable nevertheless, thought cao had the momentum to make it 6-5 but Dings class shown through when he needed it most...
Don't let the fear of losing be greater than the excitement of winning...

Didn't know he was into his running like Ronnie is.

Good one. I think Alan prefers a good fag to a run.

That statement could be particularly alarming to any American readers browsing the forum....

We would't want them thinking Alan bats for the other side.

Funnily enough Alan is a cricket fan.

                                Higgins lost to Stevens 2 - 6.
My favourite players: Walter Lindrum (AUS), Neil Robertson (AUS), Eddie Charlton (AUS), Robby Foldvari (AUS), Vinnie Calabrese (AUS), Jimmy White, Stephen Hendry, Alex Higgins, Ronnie O'Sullivan, Dominic Dale and Barry Hawkins.
                                I dream of a 147 (but would be happy with a 100)
