A very good morning of snooker. Two high-quality matches, so it was a struggle at times to decide which one to watch...
It's somewhat unlucky for Xiao to come up against Fu in this form here, because he could have had another good run.
Ding was solid again, put under more pressure than the scoreline suggests, and I would fancy him to beat Stevens pretty comfortably in the next round.

Below is a strange tweet from Jason Francis earlier!!!
@Snookerlegends: worrying amount of bets in advance on neil robertson again against un-nooh. £17000 traded apparently while only £1375 on ROS!!
Comes across as an absolute tool this man, if he took his head out of O'Sullivan's behind for a few minutes it would be nice. Not a proper snooker fan, one of the people the game doesn't need in the crowds. Probably shouts cmon Ronnie on his oponents shot sort of guy.

That could be my £17,000 . . .
Oh wait, I only put on a fiver . . .
My favourite players: Walter Lindrum (AUS), Neil Robertson (AUS), Eddie Charlton (AUS), Robby Foldvari (AUS), Vinnie Calabrese (AUS), Jimmy White, Stephen Hendry, Alex Higgins, Ronnie O'Sullivan, Dominic Dale and Barry Hawkins. I dream of a 147 (but would be happy with a 100)
Excellent breakbuilding from O'Sullivan so far. Even that break in the 2nd frame needed just one more good pot and he would have made an unlikely clearance.
Liang has been crap though. He wasted the chance in the 1st frame, wasted another one in the 2nd, then had to recover with a tricky plant, before finally managing to snooker himself on all potable reds. You can't beat O'Sullivan by playing like that, and I wouldn't be surprised if that total clearance broke his resolved now.
You can tell that this ref used to be a policeman...relishing telling members of the crowd to put their cameras away in between frames. In fact, he even took one camera away from a woman...she looked embarrassed afterwards! Good on him.
Neil Robertson is making an obscene number of century breaks this season, without a doubt the current best player in the world - he will scare other players and there is no chink in his armour, he just turns up, makes frame winning breaks and centuries every opportunity you give him and wins the matches. He has his mojo, Trump has lost his and players are now glad to draw Trump as they expect him to lose and don't fear him as they see him as lacking in confidence, an easy target.
