I remember when he burst onto the scene with his pony tail! He was indeed an attacking player but put a lot of thought into his shot selection. I despair of him sometimes now though!! Great match player but just winds me up a bit!
You may defeat me but I will fight you to the very end!!!!

It's funny but even when he enters grind mode. There is something fascinating about his play. He just puts so much effort and thought into every shot.

Yes I find it fascinating too, in a sadistic way.

                  • Ebdon! Surprised he didn't scream 'come on!'or something. Was a good match.

                    • What a tremendous match of snooker that was.

Really had everything... Both players making some high breaks, a couple of good clearances from behind, and bunch of mistakes under pressure at the end. Ebdon really struggled to put it away, first that tricky cut at 5-3 which would have left him with the frame at his mercy, then messed up blue to pink when he was clearing up to win 6-4, and then the decider... What was he doing potting the black and leaving himself the safety from distance with no balls safe? But he gets the win in the end, his fifth in five matches over Robertson in China. Well played!

One of the best best-of-11 matches we are likely to see all season. Looking forward to Davis-Liang now.

                      • Excellent fightback from Liang Wenbo to win the first frame on the pink, after that unfortunate in-off at the start of the frame.

                        • 2-0 to Liang. Not sure what his problem is with the pink, but he missed two very easy ones against O'Sullivan, and now a sitter for the frame here as well. Mark Davis couldn't take advantage though. Davis himself missed a very easy green when clearing up the colours...

Anyway, the long balls have been going in for Liang so far, but still slightly suspect in the balls. A couple of delicate positional shots have gone wrong, just like against O'Sullivan.

                          • Can anyone remember a player that asked to have the cue-ball cleaned more than liang?

                              Ebdon?

Good lead for Liang. It could have been 2-2 at least if Davis punished his mistakes, so Davis is probably quite frustrated at the moment. Tough to come back from 4-0 down, but it's a best-of-11, so his back is not quite to the wall yet.

You notice Ronnie hardly ever asks to have it cleaned, from memory he has said it's a pet hate of his, maybe liang is a bit over paranoid about getting kicks which is bad thing to thinking all the time...
Don't let the fear of losing be greater than the excitement of winning...
