Just looked at the Eurosport listings. Apparently I won't, because they deem the Tour De France more important.

Ah well, maybe I'll just have to nip out for a pint and have a Sunday Roast instead.

    • Down to the last 8 and its too bad there
      werent 2 TV tables.

      Stevens v Guodong
      Trump v Walden

      Robertson v Milkins
      Bingham v Davis

Guodong is very determined to win and
      he could win his match.
Trump is playing well and could win if he
keeps playing the way he is.
Robertson is really playing well and will
      be tough to beat.
Bingham and Davis is another close match.

      • I had to miss the Robertson match this morning, but luckily found the time to watch the recording in the afternoon, and it was a really strong performance. He never scored like that at any point in Wuxi and still won the title, so it's going to be even tougher to stop him here. Robert Milkins played really well to beat him in the 2013 WC, but this time there probably won't be any complacency from Robertson. I think the first couple of frames will be really important. Milkins has a habit of falling apart when his opponents start really strongly, like in his last couple of matches against O'Sullivan, but he becomes quite dangerous if he is allowed to get into his rhythm. I think Robertson will do the business here though.

Trump against Walden could be interesting as well, as they've never played a big match before. Trump was quite solid in what I've seen of him this week, while Walden hasn't been televised yet... Bingham and Davis have a bit more history, two big matches two seasons ago, a ranking semi-final in the 2012 Wuxi Classic, and a best-of-25 at the Crucible in 2013. Bingham won them both, so he should have the edge, although Davis is looking quite good here in his first tournament of the season. I'll go for Trump and Bingham in these two matches.

It's a shame Xiao-Stevens isn't televised, because I would quite like to see that as well. Only one major match between them, back in 2007, so not particularly relevant. They are pretty close in the rankings at this point in time, and pretty close in their recent achievements as well, both reaching a ranking final in 2013, and a couple of other good runs. Stevens has the experience, but Xiao is on his way up...

Should be a good day in any case.

        • Games are underway.

Both Trump and Stevens have not been able to put a frame on the board. Walden 3-0 up, Guodong 2-0 up.

          • great to see mark d come through to anther semi, a very nice player but he'll have a lot of work on his plate tomorrow so i hope he can find what it takes to show robertson where the stuffing goes

            • I'd love to see Mark Davis win a ranking event. He's a decent guy, and has dedicated his life to snooker.

Unfortunately, I can't see him getting past Robbo. He's the main to beat at the moment.

              • A good day of snooker. Pretty high quality between Trump and Walden, although Eurosport skipped one scrappy frame, so maybe the match left a slightly better impression than it would have otherwise. Big miss from Walden in that penultimate frame, when he was on 40 with everything on... But Trump generally played well from 3-0 down, so I expect Xiao to have problems with him tomorrow.

Robertson was less impressive than yesterday, and was lucky to survive two frames to go 4-2 up, kind of like in his match against Higginson. He was certainly beatable today, but Milkins just couldn't take advantage. As always, Robertson will be tough to beat tomorrow, whether he plays brilliantly or just ok.

                • Walden played well and I didnt see Trump coming
back from 3-0 but he did. He seems to be determined
to win this tournament and he just might.
Robertson as mentioned did not play well but he played
                  good enuff to win.
                  Some good matchups coming.
I would predict a Robertson v Trump final but who knows.

                  • Nice match, but for my taste Eurosport skipped too much of it. No excuse really, as there was plenty of time this morning.

So, a pretty good performance from Trump, two centuries and a 94 that should have been a third one. He had three centuries the last time he played Xiao as well, in the UK Championship last season, and Xiao had two himself on that occasion, so they seem to bring the best out of each other.

Now, can Robertson join Trump in the final? It would be nice to see another round of their rivalry.

                      • A couple of good breaks from Robertson towards the end, but he was missing quite a bit earlier, just like against Milkins. It would surprise me if he won back to back titles without really playing all that well. I think his mistakes will get punished tomorrow. But of course there is always the chance he can raise his game.

                        • Trump looks focused and is determined
and played very well. He could be hard
to beat if he continues playing this way.
Robertson was fortunate as Davis didnt
play well and Robertson started to play
much better near the end. He wants to
win too so it will be a tough match for
                          both of them I believe.

                          • Robbo was not pushed at all in that match, likely for him with the misses he played.

Looking forward to the final tomorrow, especially I believe it is 10 all between them
Unfortunately will have to watch it on Sportlemon as Eurosport are playing the bike riding thing
                            Up the TSF! :snooker:

                            • Final times Sunday? Will the final be 5 am and 10 am UK time?

                              Thanks.
The bitter taste of poor quality remains long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten.
