For those of you who like to copy Ronnie's set-up, (photo in post #101) note the grip forearm appears to be slightly behind the vertical (he is about 1" from the cueball but I assume at address position) and also the one everyone talks about, note his grip forefinger is not touching the cue at all at address (although it will as he backswings).
This means he is using some type of grip similar to Alex Higgins and the one Steve Davis tried out a couple of years ago with the exception that the forefinger is not hanging straight down, I suspect so it will hold the cue at the end of his backswing rather than using the second finger as Alex and Steve did. It is a very comfortable grip which encourages driving through the cueball.
I was told he uses the middle 2 fingers but it appears the baby finger is also holding the cue.
