Liang Wenbo potted 15 reds with 15 blacks but failed to get a decent position on yellow... He hit the last shot on black too hard.

I don't suppose anyone knows why some players on the tour didn't enter the U.K.? It said somewhere that 6? amateurs were given wildcards because players didn't enter
"It might not be on stats or titles but in terms of talent and the ability to play snooker erm......he's the best" Hendry's humbled words on Ronnie O'Sullivan.

The non entries (and reasons) are as follows:

        Stephen Lee (suspended)
Steve Davis (otherwise engaged on TV)
        Stephen Hendry (retired)
        Passakorn Suwannawat (resigned from tour)
Mohamed Khairy (dunno...seems to have stopped entering events)
        Ben Judge (resigned from tour)
Jin Long & Shi Hanqing (only seem to enter Asian PTC's; visa issues?)
Hossein Vafaei Ayouri (ongoing visa issues)
Khaled Belaied (only received a work permit after the closing date)
Igor Figueiredo (saving himself for the Worlds due to lack of sponsorship)
        Floyd Ziegler (resigned from tour)

So thats 12 players of the 133 main tour players, so 7 amateurs needed to "top up" to 128, and they are:

        Gareth Green
        Mitchell Travis
        Sanderson Lam
        Rhys Clark
        Shane Castle
        Dylan Mitchell
        Antony Parsons

        Hope this clears it up.

was it not McGill who had that recent occurance of letting the Chinese player who nominated pink but played blue?

Too much to type but I guess Kyren Wilson will share his thoughts about the clearance Mcgill made in frame 5. WIlson was all over him and leading 3-1 and also lead in the frame. Wilson got a lucky snooker with all reds gone and just colors remaining. Mcgill was to play yellow but was snookered behind blue. He fouled and hit black on his first attempt. Then he argues for 5 minutes about where to respot the white so he could have a second go. Next thing I know he plays a completely different shot than the first attempt and ends up fluking yellow n clearing up

I havenĀ“t seen the match before now, but the clearance to go 5 -3 up was really high class.

He coerced (through pleading, begging, arguing, discussing whatever) the ref to put the balls in the wrong place .... that was cheating + an incompetent ref. Watch the vid if you can find it somewhere. The shot he played at second attempt was not on if the balls had been in their original position. He not only cheated but fluked the yellow to initiate an easy clearance ... I am impressed with Wilson for behaving like a gentleman despite having to put up with all of that
