I dream of a 147 (but would be happy with a 100)

Definitely a baptism of fire for Rhys, this is one bad consequence of the flat 128 draw that a rookie can draw a top player and be on the main stage, on TV, etc., and could be too much for the player and be the end of what could have been a promising career.
I hope Rhys comes take heart and does not let it affect him too much.
Question for the statisticians: how many rookies been white-washed in their first TV match and how many have made it big?
Up the TSF! :snooker:

Remember that he is only still an amateur and as for how many points did he score...give the young man a break.. he had so many things to contend with today ! Up against the current world champion in a big event like the UK to be there is simply fantastic. How many of us can say we have played Ronnie ? Even getting beat 6-0 the young man should still hold his head high. Not played for 3 years and itching for a game....11-3-2017.

Have to say I dont agree with the rumours about moving the event to Coventry and am shocked they even considering this - York is my favorite venue I love it and go every year - beautiful City - one of the nicest in the whole of England.
Barbican Centre set up is great - staff lovely - town centre shopping in the shambles keeps the wife happy - such a clean and beautiful place and Christmas really feels like Christmas here -
PLEASE dont move the UK - unless it is back to Preston.

The 19-year-old amateur's profile could rocket because of his impending UK Championship first round meeting with Ronnie O'Sullivan on Saturday.
But before that, clarifying exactly where he hails from is important to the young Scot.
Many newspapers and websites have incorrectly reported that Clark is from the South Lanarkshire town of Larkhall, rather than Stonehouse, which is a few miles down the road. Not played for 3 years and itching for a game....11-3-2017.

You can take something from any match you play.

I've tried to defend BBC's snooker coverage long after most had given up, but it has to be said my patience is all but out. Given the choice, and providing they're showing the match I want to watch, I'll still choose the BBC over any other, but they can't even be arsed putting the evening sessions on the red button now.
Why do they think viewers are going to care, when it's blatantly obvious they themselves have no real interest in the sport??
I wanted to watch the Robinson match, but Eurosport have chosen to air the Selby match, leaving me with the least desirable viewing option - the internet."Kryten, isn't it round about this time of year that your head goes back to the lab for retuning?"
