the cheating has started again as predicted, trying to move the white by asking the referee to clean it (and rightly refused by the referee). so typical~~~

      • I've never seen a ref refuse to clean the white.. it was odds on for the kick to follow too.

        • He's pretty good I must say but Mark is sure struggling breaking off 4 times in a row and leaving something open... Anybody know what cue Shane is playing? Looks like it has a very nice design to it :snooker:

You can take something from any match you play.
I think the difference here was everyone knew Hendry was going to be something very special whereas with all respect Rhys is just an amateur who was lucky to get an invite and has shown very little to suggest he'll ever make his way into the professional game.
It was hard to watch this lad who was completely out of his depth, playing a match in front of a big crowd, live on TV against the best player ever performing the way he did could do more damage than good.

What is there to get out of the match? He didn't compete, despite Ronnie giving him numerous chances, he missed two of the easiest balls I've seen in a long while and for me he just doesn't have what it takes. He's 19 now and whilst he might not be the finished article, in respect to others his age especially in the game today he is miles behind. I'm all for seeing new faces but I think its better to give players a bye rather than give amateurs like this a chance who haven't really earned it or deserved it based on this showing.

Tim (snookerdad) might be the person to ask cause his involved with the South of England Cue Stars with Shane Castle plays in regularly......

Good stuff from Shane, Selby looks a bit rattled after the ref refused to clean the white.....

does anyone else not see the kick after the ref refused to clean the white? it looked to me like it was just a bad effort at the pot, probably because he was annoyed at the ref, but to me it didnt look like a kick at all

                          • Thankless job really, being the referee. Can't be a good feeling seeing Selby get the kick right after he refused to clean the cue ball for him. But what can you do...

Good for Castle to get that frame, because he was all over the place in the previous two frames. Now Selby is right under pressure again. He has all the experience though...

you think the referees don't know selby's disposition and intent? kudos to alan chamberlain for being the 1st one to read him like a book
