No interest in tonight's matches?

It was interesting to see Ding in "Maguire mode", banging the table even though he was well in front. He was clearly upset with the table conditions, especially the big bounce on the final pink when he was clearing up in the 6th frame, I think. There was also a pot along the black cushion that Ding missed by a mile, but the red curved back towards the pocket and dropped in, like those two blacks Mark Williams got in this tournament in 2010. Ridiculous conditions really. But what can you do, you can't have the whole tour played in Asia, where things like this don't seem to happen all that often...

Another annoying thing is tomorrow's choice of TV matches in the evening session... You can't really ask for a better selection, Dott vs Carter, O'Sullivan vs Duffy, Liang vs Maguire and Trump vs Xiao. Three good matches, but the only boring one absolutely has to be shown. I understand the need to show as much of O'Sullivan as possible, as he is usually the player most people want to watch, but this is really taking it to the extreme... I think I mentioned Dott vs Carter as one of the best possible prospects of the early rounds, but now it doesn't even make it on TV... Shame.

What evening coverage ? There aren't any being shown live on bbc2 in the evenings just via the red button, it's a joke as normal for them these days.

Ding seemed to struggle in both matches so far and seems to think the tables are terrible at the moment but he wasn't exactly up to par either. If he wants to make it 4 in a row he will have to improve a lot.

on eurosport 1 and 2 they are showing the evening sessins, so we will see atleast 2 of the matches properly, they might have it on red button to choose which match you watch but im not sure
