    • when ronnie won the uk champ in 2007, that was his first ranking tourney in 21 months. never one thought that ronnie would come back and be a contender with is mental problems. but he proved everyone wrong

but i am surprised how massviely higgins has declined after his superb comeback year in 2010/2010 (though his didnt play his best, but was solid as a rock under pressure and made many comebacks from behind. )

but he and williams arent that players anymore who are feared. but ronnie is still there. and still comepeting and winning major tournaments.

What is the difference between those two and ronnie?

Higgins won the the WC in 07,09,11, in that time ronnie had only one WC
      What happened?

          • G'bye, Fixy.

Murphy v. Hawkins has been quite the good match... hard to predict who'll emerge victorious in it.

I'm glad that they're down to two tables, now, so we can watch every match, not only the ones they select for us to see.

            • I can't remember ever seeing John Higgins play a shot like that pink with the match on the line. His decision making has been so solid throughout his career, but that was an ambitious one... He probably didn't want to leave himself needing high colours, especially with the black not going past the pink into one corner, but still...

              • How does John Higgins swallow a defeat like that?

                • Higgins seems to be on a terminal decline.

My thoughts exactly... can't remember him ever making such a radical choice of shot... very unlike John Higgins. Bit sad to see really... he basically gave up there, which is also very much unlike the man.

Yes that was a bit disappointing wasn't it. I was waiting for the almost inevitable JH fightback but it never showed up. I Can't believe he's on a permanent decline though, he's just too good and still young-ish.

Anyway, on with the Hawkins & Murphy show, which I wish I'd gone with in the first place.

                      • Maguire looked very determined and focused throughout that match. Higgins looked like he was sitting in his seat trying to work out what was going wrong.
I wonder how much practise he's getting in these days.

EDIT. Looks like it's going to a decider. I can't watch.

Ronnie looks after himself with diet and exercise. Higgins looks like he needs to cut out booze and get fit.

                              • Go the Hawk !! Great match !!

My favourite players: Walter Lindrum (AUS), Neil Robertson (AUS), Eddie Charlton (AUS), Robby Foldvari (AUS), Vinnie Calabrese (AUS), Jimmy White, Stephen Hendry, Alex Higgins, Ronnie O'Sullivan, Dominic Dale and Barry Hawkins.
                                I dream of a 147 (but would be happy with a 100)
