      Neil - not enough
Holden - should have gone during the mid-session but had to wait for the misses to get back.
Coomsey - I must be. Missus pops out and does her thing then kicks me out to watch her X-jungle-dancing-talent-whatever
      Up the TSF! :snooker:

      • Rocket vs Robbo in the semifinal would be some math if they kept today's standard. If I have to be brutally honest, Robertson is playing the better of the two but being a Ronnie fan I will still be backing Ronnie.

Certainly would be a good semi but Neil has a really tough match against Maguire to get through before that. Have had a sneaky feeling for Maguire ever since he made that comeback against Luca Brecel. Plus, he's long overdue a good run in one of the 3 majors.

            • I have hardly gambled all my life but this UK championship has already earned me about 400£ .... I wish I had the finances and the balls to multiply my bets with a factor or 10 or 100 and life would have been good ... great snooker by Robbo and Rocket though I prefer things like Higgins fighting back from 50-60 down in a frame or Selby choking his opponent to death

I am of the view that Neil in current form can only be stopped by Ronnie ... Maggie does not have the temperament and he won't win much unless he changes it but off course anything can happen in Snooker.

it would not surprise me if they were both beaten in the 1/4 finals.

                  • I just glanced at the schedule of play for tomorrow and really can't understand their logic. Neil and Ronnie played the evening session today, and they're the ones who are scheduled for the earlier of the two sessions tomorrow (1 PM). Why not allow them to have the evening session tomorrow as well, so they can have more of a break between matches? Odd.

it was a draw because stu did not know what time he was playing after his match. so just luck of the draw.

I've always wondered the same thing. There are certain players that I think are just mentally shot against O'Sullivan before the match has even started. Of note, Williams and Carter. I thought that Milkins would have had a better shot. I saw their head-to-head and I think they have only played the once.

                          • Some great matches coming up thursday.

Several players have a decent chance to advance altho I would
expect O'Sullivan and Robertson to win but time will tell.

                            • With all the criticisms of this years format. The last 8 are all seeded players. Regardless of the format, the best are usually there at the end.

So the reason brusque types in red is because some players are mentally shot against O'Sullivan. Interesting theory, but I'm not sure I understand your logic

I haven't minded, to be perfectly honest. The only down side was not getting to see your favourite player (if they went out early) and trying to keep track of who was still in and who had been knocked out.

The early stages with the four tables reminded me a little of the scene in The Color of Money when Tom Cruise and Paul Newman arrive at the huge pool championships.
