  • Bingham won and deservedly so.

I am not too disappointed becasue after Ronnies WC win i said that everything onwards is a bonus for me.

He won the CoC and made the UK QF where he never get going. It happens. But he will bounce back no doubt about that.

    • I wonder what makes a snooker player popular?

Ronnie is probably the best of his generation but a popular player doesn't necessarily mean the best. Higgins and White don't always win but they seem to get more bums on seats than Hendry or Davis could get.

i wonder if it is to do with the standard of play of the viewer - everybody i know who plays well, say 50's or above, thinks bingham was superb today and ronnie way off the boil it would appear to be people that don't really play that are only interested in ronnie, jimmy etc.

        • I have to say the flat 128 format has really impressed me. I wasn't convinced when they first announced it but the best players still managed to find their way into the top 16 with a few exceptions.

So here are my predictions for the rest of the tournament. I've been hopelessly wrong as per usual up to this point but what the heck:-

          Selby beats Hawkins.
          Walden beats Allen.
          Selby beats Walden.
          Robertson beast Bingham.

Selby and Robertson in the final. Selby wins.

            • The question is, can Stuart back it up and win a major?

Neil seems to be on a mission. Hardly got challenged in the tournament.

neil looks very very dangerous you would imagine the winner of that match will win it.

I think you mistook casual and die hard!!! The die hard fans support 1 player and pack the event in when they lose! They are too devestated to watch other players in the latter stages of events.
                          Blown away

I guess they're die hard fans of that particular player but not the sport.

                              • The thing about them is..........they watch every match involving all players with great interest while theyre favourite player is in the event, but once he loses, the event goes out the window. It sucks being a die hard fan!
