Amazing that black for the 147....many many congrats Mark...so pleased for him. FANTASTIC STUFF :snooker: :snooker:
I thought he'd miss the pink, and I was sure he'd miss the black! What a fitting 147 for the 100th.

And a big "thank you" to the BBC for switching channels right in the middle of it, the icing on the cake of their coverage this week for me.

Still can't believe he potted the black...what a shot! I can't get over that 147...just watched it again cause it was so special. With the crowd's reactions from the brown ball onwards, willing Mark on with every shot especially with the black, and a bit of fun to cut the tension before that on the pink from Mark...it was just wonderful snooker...even I was jumping up and down on the couch clapping and screaming! Wow...just wow! As you say PatB...very fitting for the 100th 147.

Forget about Selby...I need time off before the evening's session just to calm down

Sad to see Ricky go 6-2 behind...bit of a task for him later on.

      • I've been taping this as I've been putting up the Xmas tree and decorations with my family today but I'm looking forward to seeing Mark's 147 later. Well done Mark.

Yeah, lets hope he has a sip of whatever Bingsy was drinking last night. Actually, better make that a couple of pints.

          • The final black was amazing, the pink before it was even more amazing. How the hell did he cue that shot straight, stretching and with what must of been a 14 inch bridge between hand and tip??

            • Typical, had to pop into work for an hour & the next frame Selby knocks in a 147. Thankfully the BBC have got a link to the break on their site so I'll have to have a watch now. Link for anybody who missed it http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/snooker/25284182

              • Must be our very own arbitrage in the crowd tonight...giving Selby a big cheer after potting the first red

Rooting for Ricky in this mini-session to get at least 3 frames...game on!

It would be interesting to know if this was the first final black ever to be potted into the middle for a 147. It was certainly the toughest I've ever seen, tougher even than that cut Stephen Hendry had in 95.

It's not long ago Selby missed a black on 140 (don't remember which tournament it was), so another miss would have been hard to take.

                  • Fair play to Paul Collier for not calling a miss on that attempt. Nice to see common sense being used regarding the msis rule as it's almost become the norm to call a miss no matter what

                    • I've been playing too much wcs2004... When Walden potted that red along the black cushion I was wondering if Selby could have seen it had it stayed out, so I pressed shift to see the overhead view, then realised I'm watching a video, not playing a game.

                      • What a fabulous 147 from Selby , just shows you the class of the guy, not really playing very well, he admitted it himself , but to pull that out of the bag is sheer genius.
That last black looked impossible what a pot for the maximum.

                        Well done Selby.

7-2 now might be a tall order for Ricky Walden now.

Ricky'd better start sipping then...this match is quickly slipping away from him now...7-2 down.

Yeah I agree. But then again, I think this was such a clear case of a practically impossible to hit snooker, it was a rather easy decision in the end for Paul C. Still good to see. Btw WT agrees with us

I can honestly say that is the first time me and Willie have agreed on anything
