That's about it, if memory serves me well
I think if Mark had got that black then it would have been a lot tighter. The fight sort of went out of him after that.

Most definately...also I could see Mark winning from 8-8 as Neil had his big chance in that frame and blew it. If Mark had gone on to pinch that frame, especially in the way he did it (each ball was a difficult pot), then Neil would have been devastated.

That's why I was cursing&yelling both on the board and at home Such a big chance for us to get our 10-9 final frame tension-filled decider, and for Mark to (hopefully) win in the end...which I was really hoping for.

Anyways...this one is over and done with now. Onwards to The Masters. And I will be taking vacation from work to watch each&every frame this time around...can't stand missing a single match in one of the major tournaments. And I missed a lot of this UK due to work unfortunately. Life's a bitch innit

      • i think although Mark seemed disappointed, he should be proud of himself, he got to the UK final without really playing his best, he kind of had a good start to the match but never at his best, just shows how good a player he is really is. i wonder what the outcome would have been if he was playing his best snooker.

i think him and Robertson are going to be playing a lot more finals in years to come.

        • Confession time. I used to be a bit of a Selby hater but I've completely changed my mind now. He's a fantastic player and deserves all credit.

Agreed on both points. And I think Mark won't be too dissapointed...as he indicated earlier he wasn't firing on all cilinders...so he'll be pretty happy reaching the final + making that wonderful 147.

Don't care much for Neil or watching him play. I'd personally love to see a final between Mark and Stuart Bingham...both fantastic players, with excellent sportsmanship.

I can understand people not liking him cause of his style of play but he is such a great competitor, one of the best tactician of this sport.
I am glad someone else noticed it

will be forgotten already - the black for the 147 he will remember!

                          • I think the fact he did'nt play anywhere near his best will make it slightly easier to swallow.

That was some shot! And for a 147 the pressure must be immense, i remember Hendry potting the final Black at the Crucible from near the jaws of the corner pocket and the Black was on its spot, Mark's is up there with that.

I know. Every coaching manual says you need to stay rock still on the shot and he's swaying all over the place. I'm surprised he can't tell that he's doing it.
Doesn't seem to affect his potting though.
