    LOL. Indeed.

Steve Davis getting further squeezed out.

    • It could be Ding vs Robertson in the finals.

Interesting matches tho before that gets decided.

        That'd be a cracker!

        • well here we go for the first Quarter finals.
I may be wrong (often am) but I see Robbo and Ricky coming through, close matches both.
(my prediction is, that my prediction will be way off )

          • Nice, a choice of matches on Eurosport this morning.

Well, since all of Robertson's matches have been scrappy this week, let's give Carter and Walden a chance. Not a very common pairing, is it? I don't think they've played at all in a ranking event in the time when they've been top players. I think it has 5-4 written all over it.

Robertson's match could be close as well, as his previous ones were, but I have a feeling Dott is the first player playing well enough to outplay him here. I don't think it will turn into a scrap again. On the other hand, Robertson's record against Dott is very strong over the last couple of years...

only five times and Ricky has had the run in more recent times (3-2)#so yes could be close

Fair call. Robertson has been vulnerable all week and only just scraped through against MJW.

                  • This Dott v Robertson match is a bit dull. I appreciate Robbo's not too well, but neither of them seem that bothered to me. Don't think we've had a 50 yet. I ordered myself not to channel-hop this morning, to pick a match and stick with it, so this is my reward.

EDIT: There you go, Robertson's first shot of the 5th frame, off the pack straight into the top corner pocket. Careless. Might just have a quick peek at Walden v Carter...

Ah. Let me just explain that I've only just got out of bed and hadn't seen the scoreline when I posted the above.

One of the best shots of the season, shame it didn't win him the frame in the end.

It's amazing that Robertson has won all three of these close frames, twice when he allowed Dott to get the snooker he needed, and now the re-spot as well. Could have been 4-1 the other way.

                          • More discussion and consultation with officials over the miss rule once again, in the Walden v Carter match. Anyone know what it was all about?

Yeah, Walden missed the reds on a thin safety and the miss was called. Carter had it put back, and as Walden prepared to play his shot he realized he now needed a snooker, so the miss had been called incorrectly. Not sure if the referee misread the score or was just confused about the rule... Then there was a bit of a mess with the language barrier, so they got Verhaas in to sort it out, and just had the white replaced to where it had stopped originally.

A bit of a disgrace to be honest, but the match was pretty much over with Walden's miss, so it was all a bit trivial.
